A/N: I'm starting with an author's note this time because this can't wait till the end of the chapter: I'M SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SOOOOOOOOOOO SORRY YOU HAD TO WAIT 15 DAYS FOR THIS CHAPTER!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was just like, "Oh it hasn't been THAT long," until I checked and realized that I have not posted for 15 days. SO I immediately got on Wattpad and started writing because I felt SO bad. I would like to mention @Halfbloodkeeper and @sammyawesomecloggers for supporting my work and encouraging an update. (I also love your stories, they're amazing and like, my favorite stories on here, even above my own.) ANYWAYS I will let you get to this long-awaited chapter!
.-=Sophie's POV=-.
I was nervous. I admit it. It was the day of the Foxfire celebration and the only person who was helping me with a whole lot of Neverseen goons, was my cognate and boyfriend, Fitz. I'd trust him with my life(A/N: Did I really just.... 🤦♀️), but that doesn't mean I wasn't nervous.
I mean, this was the day that I faced off the Neverseen. Alone. Well, not completely......
My thoughts were running in circles now. I looked at the time. Crap. I only had an hour to prepare. I scrambled toward my closet and put on a maroon tunic with black leggings, and black boots. I slipped daggers and throwing knives into the hidden pockets and prepared myself mentally. (And yet, you don't have your staff... I NEED A CONSTRUCTION BUILDER. I JUST BROKE THE FOURTH WALL.) I quickly combed my hair into a messy ponytail and walked down the stairs, when the wonderful smell of mallowmelt filled the air. "Is that for me?" I asked Edaline. She smiled and shook her head. "Don't. Touch." She turned back to the ripplefluffs she was making. I grabbed a square of mallowmelt and ran outside. Okay, maybe I was a little rebellious. I found Grady who stared at the mallowmelt. "Did you bring that for me?" He was kinda begging, and he reached for my precious mallowmelt. I yanked it away from him. "Sorry, but no. I had to run for my life with this mallowmelt." Grady chuckled. "Sophie!" Edaline's shout could be heard from inside the house. "Guess that's my cue!" I told Grady and sprinted farther outside, shoving the mallowmelt in my mouth as I did. I glanced over my shoulder to see Edaline catching up. Now's the time for a brain push! I mentally screamed in my head, and channeled the buzzing energy from the back of my head into my legs. I crashed head-first into someone and we both tumbled to the ground. Yep... Here comes Edaline. I realized I had run into Fitz.
"SORRY FITZ!" I exclaimed and I helped him to his feet, but he just laughed. "It's fine, Soph. Why were you running that fast anyways?" I blushed and looked at the ground. "I may have stolen some mallowmelt from Edaline." Speaking of, where was she? I looked around to see her backing away with one of her traditional, 'sappy smiles'. Parents. "Soo... you ready for tonight?" I questioned, trying to change the subject. I think Fitz could tell I was uncomfortable and understood completely. "Yep! I actually came to get you and your parents. We moved the time up a little." Ohhh. "I'll go get Grady" I offered, to which Fitz said, "and I'll get Edaline." He started walking away. I strode toward Grady. "Time to go," I told him. He nodded and we made our way to the Leapmaster.
For some strange reason, I wanted to come up with a nickname for Fitz. Hmmm... Well, his full name was Fitzroy, so if I combined that... Fritzy. I grinned evilly, to which everyone gave me a funny look.
We reached the festival and made our way to the others. "Is everyone ready?" Fitz, or Fritzy to me, asked. "I know I am. What about you?" I said aloud. Fritzy, I transmitted to Fitz in addition to what I said. I grinned. He groaned. Everyone else had confused looks.
We turned our attention to the stage as the festival started. We split into two groups. One had me, Fitz, Keefe, and Biana. The other had Mr.Forkle (as Magnate Leto), Linh, Tam, and others from the Black Swan. It wasn't long before I got Magnate Leto's transmission. We have eyes on Lady Gisela. I whispered to Keefe and Biana to go to Magnate Leto, saying me and Fitz could keep an eye on everything. I sent Keefe and Biana. I told Magnate Leto. We saw members of the Black Swan slip away to follow Gisela. Now, drum roll please [insert drum roll] and..... There's the rest of the Neverseen. Holding the Council hostage.
Time for this party to go down.
Me and Fitz descreetly made our way to the stage, when something flashed out of the corner of my eye. I turned my head to view Gethen walking on stage. With dark green tips in his hair. I froze and blinked up at the person infront of her. Or rather, the dark green tips in his hair.
Fitz stared in horror at Gethen. "He's supposed to be dead," he whispered in my ear. Dead. The word rang in my mind, as something finally clicked in my head.
.-=Fitz's POV=-.
I saw Sophie's eyes widen in understanding. I scrunched my eyebrows. What was this about?
.-=Sophie's POV=-.
I watched countless training sessions coached by Jolie, hers and my tips black. I knew why. After a moment I shook my head and searched for anything I could use as a staff. That's when I saw Jolie, crouched in the bushes. She made eye contact with me and rolled a staff toward me. I crept over there and picked up the smooth metal, my hands instinctively knowing where to go.
I had my memories back.
A/N: AHHHHHH I WANT TO KEEP WRITING TO GET TO 1,000 WORDSSSSS. But that was a good spot to stop and I didn't want to spoil everything. (I just looked at the word count and realized that with this AN I broke 1,000, but whose gonna read the AN anyway?) ANYWAYS Sorry for the long wait and sorry it couldn't be longer! Party away, my readers! I have to go do homework since school started for me, but FAREWELL UNTIL NEXT CHAPTER!!!!
