Chapter 11: Sights and Sounds

It doesn't take long for Norman and Emily to end up naked and passionately, eagerly kissing in Norman's bedroom. It was as if their love was a phoenix and had just turned to ash and now was reforming into a new, younger, brighter phoenix. But this isn't Harry Potter or mythological creatures. This was real life. Their life. Their love.

Tearing clothes from their body, Norman stops when he sees her two scars on her stomach and side. Once for their babies and one for her appendix. He lets his head drop. As both are sitting on his bed, Daryl leans forward with his butt out and behind him and lays his head on her thighs, with her feet tucked underneath her as if she was praying. His hands are on her waist and his hair covers his face. She can feel the tears running from his eyes onto her thighs. Norman can't even breath. He can't see. He can't comprehend anything but guilt and pain. Emily just rubs herhands on his shoulders and she too is simply crying. Both in their underwear, both broken to pieces. Eventually they lay under his covers together and fall to sleep.

When Em wakes up, Norman is snuggled into her side. She forgot how young and peaceful he looks when he sleeps. Even when the night before they cried themselves to sleep. She brushes a small strand of hair from his face and kisses his forehead gently. He stirs gently beneath her touch and then snuggles his face more into her chest. Her lacy pink bra tickles his face and his eyes flutter awake and look up into her. He feels infinate. Her soft skin beneath him and her crystal blue eyes looking into his. That's what he loves the most. Her eyes. Sparkling, mystical, and capturing like a diamond.

"Morning Princess..." Leaning up he kisses her face and then her lips. "My Emmy. My Emmy Girl."

Rubbing his hands up and down her waist, she shudders beneath his touch. Loving every minute of it, she pulls his face up to her and kisses him more than any other time in her life.

As they make out and stroke each other, Norman's hand runs across her stomach and feels the scar. He immediately stops and looks at Emily. Tugging on his face she kisses him again.

"Don't have guilt or pain for this. Levi and Emmeline would've never wanted that." Norman looks at her almost more broken than before.

"You named them?" Emily looks away almost ashamed for this whole thing.

"Of course. I buried them too. I wasn't going to let them go nameless, Norman. I chose the names and laid them to rest...please don't be mad at me." He can start to see tears, but he kissed her before she could start crying.

"I'm bot mad. I could never be mad about that. Where are they placed?"

"Livingston Memorial near my mom's house...."She rolls onto her side; Norman, on his back.

"Your parents know?"

"Of course. I wasn't going to keep it from them. They were there when I did it...." She waits a few seconds and ten looks at him. "I should have at least told you. Norman, I'm sorry. I was jus...."

"It's okay, baby, I'm not mad or upset that you did that. I just... I'm sorry about me. About what I did and didn't do. I can't take that back." Emily lays on top of his chest and kisses him.

"Stop. Norman, you new to let that go. It was just a kiss."

"I'm not talking about the kiss."

"Oh..."

"I'm talking about not being there for you. For them. Emily I haven't been the same since we lost em. Since I lost you."

"I'm right here Norman. Yer not gonna lose me. Ever again." She kisses him, not with passion, but reassurance. For herself or Norman? She didn't know. All she knows is that she doesn't want anyone else. "I don't want anyone else holding me like this. Or kissing me. I don't want those other guys who think they deserve me. I want you. Because you are unlike the rest of them. You are the perfect, sweetest, most considerate guy and the one I'm deeply in love with. So I don't want you to blame yerself or guilt yerself into thinking yer not anything I want. Because yer're all I want."
