Chapter 12: Back

Sitting on an interview chair, Emily can feel her heart racing as they ready the cameras. It's the first time she's ever been on Ellen and her nerves are getting to her. Her recent episodes for TWD has been causing many "riots" between fans and producers. Ellen comes out and the show starts. Smiling and waving to fans, Emily can't truly prepare herself for anything. Smoothing down her floural dress, she makes sure she sits up tall and tries not to visibly shake. Ellen finally sits down beside her and smiles at Emily.

"Hello, welcome to the show." Ellen laughingly smiles and Emily just laughs with her.

"Hi. Thanks for having me. This is a very cool set you have here today." Looking around it is set up for Christmas. A tree is set behind them and decorated with zombie limbs and faces of characters from TWD.

"You like it? You're my first Walking Dead member, so I tried to go all out for you."

"Well it's definately appriciated. It's really cool, with the limbs and the faces."

"Have you noticed your character Beth on my tree yet?" Looking around Em can't seem to find it anywhere.

"Um... no I haven't found me yet. Yer actually missing Daryl too So... haha, yeah."

"Actually I have you both here. Hold on. Let me jsut set this up." Ellen has a staff member come out and hand her a box with a button on it. "Let me just press this button... actually you can do it."

"You sure?"

"Yes I'm sure. You wanna press it. But count down really loud when you do. Cause it adds effect." Ellen hands her the box and Emily just looks at it.

"What do you want me to cound down from?" Emily laughs.

"Let's do 5. So whenever you're ready."

"Okay.... 5! 4! 3! 2! 1!" She presses the button and they all go quiet and stare at the tree. Emily looks at Ellen and then back at the tree, waiting for something to happen. "Um.. It didn't..."

"BOO!!!!!"

"AHHHHH!" Emily jumps out of her seat and finds Norman, dressed up as Daryl standing behind her after he grabbed her shoulders. Ellen and Norman laugh so hard and Emily just sits with her eyes wide and shaking a bit. When she finally settles down, she just sits there smizing at the audience. 

"Oh sorry, I gave you the wrong button. I'll get ya the other one in a few minutes. But look, I brought you your lover." Norman just laughs and Emily just smiles and shakes her head. "Norman Reedus everyone! Emily do you mind if he stays? We don't want to keep you too seperated"

"Yeah, no, it's better if we keep him in eye sight. I don't want him scaring me again. He's like a ninja. All the time."

"Can we get Mr. Reedus a chair." Ellen calls and a staff guy comes out with another comfy lounge chair and sets it beside Emily. When Norman sits down, his hand slightly touches Emily's and she tries to act like it hadn't. "So, Emily, Norman. How's it feel to be in the middle of season 5?"

"It feels amazing. When I first started on the show, I never thought Beth would turn into an A list character. Like I didnt' think she'd ever last 4 seasons. So to be in the middle of season 5 with a clean bill of health is amazing." Emily nods her head to the audience as they cheer and Ellen adjusts herself on the seat. 

"Norman?"

"Oh same. Didn't imagine I'd be up there with Rick."

"Some say your character is more favored over Rick and the rest. How did it get that big?"
