Amy.
"NICOLE!" screamed Blasie, and he sounded hurt.
"Blasie...Nicole..." I gasped, taking off in a sprint as Elena stopped clapping and was hot on my tail.
"Noooo!!!" screamed Elena, clapping her hands over her mouth, collapsing to her knees right beside her cousin, who was shaking he was crying so hard.
"Nic-Nicole?" I whimpered, dropping to the other side of her lifeless body. "She's playing, right?"
"I - I don't think so..." frowned Draco, appearing to Blasie's side. "...Blasie, mate..."
"No." He sharply spat, hugging Nicole's lifeless body for a few more moments. He took a moment, then rose from her body, letting her left arm slide off her torso and lifelessly hit the concrete.
"W-what are those?" I asked, noticing her torso shifted and I realized she had two necklaces on, the cursive B one and one with two tiny jars holding onto the chain.
"Oh," sighed Blasie, unhooking the the chain and letting the tiny jars fall into his hand. "These are protection charms." He choked out, handing them over to Elena as his eyes didn't remove themselves from Nicole's sleeping face.
"P-Protection?" Elena whimpered, passing me one of the tiny jars.
Elena held hers up, it had some tiny bit of water on the bottom, a pierce of her Slytherin uniform in it with some silver sparking flakes.
I held up mine, it had some tiny of water in the bottom as well, with a pierce of my Gryffindor uniform in it, with golden sparking flakes.
My heart began to crack as I starred at the golden flakes as Harry, Ron and Hermione appeared by oursides.
"No..." Hermione gasped, clapping her hands over her mouth and Harry pulled her into his shoulder to cry.
"Holy shit." Harry muttered, starring down at her.
Ron just moved to be by my side.
"She put a Protection Charm on us..." Elena whispered through tears, looking from my emotionless eyes down to Nicole's face. "...thats why none of those spells were hitting us, thats why she said we'd be okay...she made sure we would be."
"Oh Nicole..." I found my self laying my head on her chest and wrapped my arms around her torso, or the best I could. "...fuck you...I love you."
"She was a hell of a warrior..." Draco frowned, leaning down and rubbing on Elena's back and placing a hand on Blasie's shoulder, who wasn't crying anymore, he just starred down.
*~*~*
I straightened my black dress in the body length mirror.
"Are you sure, you want to go?" asked Ron, rising from the twisted sheets of his bed and walking up behind me and wrapping his arms around my waste.
"Yes, Mike was a good man...you would have liked him if he didn't fancy me." I winked as he kissed my cheek, but my grin faded as I realized whose dress I was wearing.
"What?" Ron asked, pulling on his dress pants from his dresser.
"I..." I giggled a little and sighed, trying to remove my eyes from the mirror. "...borrowed this from Nicole."
Ron's face went pale and his eyes went wide.
I felt my throat close up a little as he pulled me into his chest and I just started crying so hard that I couldn't control my breathing.
"We don't have to go today Ames..." Ron started, but I cut him off and ripped myself out of his arms.
"...No, even Nicole said we'd give him a proper burial...we're sticking to her word..." I whimpered, straightening myself up and moving back towards the mirror. Slowly applying the makeup - that in mid applying - I realized was also Nicole's that I had borrowed.
Before her, I wasn't that much of a 'pretty girl'.
My heart broke as I finished the mascara.
"Nicole..." I whispered, picking up my golden chain necklace that held that tiny jar, with those golden flakes.
The funeral was actually a blur, I hate to say.
Elena held my hand the entire time.
I was too busy fidgeting with the tiny jar around my neck.
I looked over and saw Elena was wearing hers too.
I could tell we were both there for Mike, but our hearts and heads weren't there...they were wondering what Nicole would be wearing, saying, where she would be standing...
Usually she'd be in between myself and Elena, but all that stood there now was part of the beams of the sun soaking through the leaves and branches above us.
"I miss her too..." Elena whispered, taking my hand as I began to get choked up once we started to make our way up the coffin. "...but think of Mike right now."
Appropriately, she was right.
I placed a rose on the top of his coffin and lead Ron away from the coffin.
