Amara Winters' POV
So our suspicions were correct, the victims were poisoned. And Harry and I were pretty sure that we knew by what they were poisoned. Even though we now knew this, we hadn't gotten any further with the investigation. Yes, we knew that crucial information and details were deleted from the files, but we already thought that poison could've played a role when we saw the bottles of 'CHATEAU LA TOUR CARNET'.Harry and I were now eating dinner in my office. Neither of us felt like going home just yet, so we were discussing the confirmation of our suspicions and the new information we'd just gotten from the morgue.
"Well I guess we don't know for sure if all those other victims were poisoned as well, but let's just take it as that and say they were. That still leaves us with one victim that hadn't been poisoned, Stacy." I say as I take a bite from my taco.
"Yes, but I think that it wasn't planned for Stacy to show up at the station. I think that the mole could easily be the killer." Harry said and I frowned.
"Elaborate."
"Well, as we know, Dan Wilson was gonna be brought in for questioning but was killed before we even had the chance to bring him to the station. Stacy was killed before she could even enter the station. Maybe the killer was scared that he'd be recognized for some odd reason..." Harry said, making me think about his arguments.
"That does make sense. The mole could be the killer! So now we have to be extra careful. We can't let anyone know that we know. We also have to be cautious for suspicious behaviours." I said and Harry nodded.
"Well almost everyone is gone so we could search their offices..." Harry said, but I shook my head.
"No, the Chief stayed in late for a meeting, we can't do it tonight. We have to do it another time, let's just pack our stuff and get the hell out of here." I laughed and Harry nodded. I started placing the scattered files on one neat pile. Harry turned off the computer and started collecting the food wraps that lied on the ground. Once everything was cleaned up, we grabbed our coats and headed out the door. We walked to the parking lot together and laughed at each other's jokes. Harry was really good company and I was glad that I could work on this case with him. We worked perfectly together and that made me really happy.
"I'll see you on Monday then." I smiled, knowing that I'd have a free day tomorrow.
"Yeah, I guess..." But neither of us moved. We just stood there, staring at each other, waiting for the other person to break the icy silence.
"Amara..." Harry suddenly spoke and I eagerly answered.
"Yeah." I blushed in embarrassment of how fast I reacted. Harry showed a small smirk before looking down, then looking back up at me.
"W-would you like to uh... you know, hang out some time... it's cool if you don't want to of course. But like maybe... go on a date with me?"
