Amara Winters' POV
Harry had actually asked me out, I still couldn't believe it. The most handsome man from the police station, possibly the whole town, had asked me out. I felt extremely happy and flattered. I immediately knew I made the right choice by saying yes as soon as I said it because I felt my stomach fill with butterflies.

I yawned as I got up from my bed, stretching my whole body and then lazily stepping out of bed. Today was the day, the day that I'd have a date with Harry. I was already bursting with excitement, I didn't know how I was gonna survive until the actual date. Yet, I also felt very nervous. I mean, I was going on a date with Harry, the best cop in town and the funniest, sweetest and best-looking guy in Holmes Chapel. I put on my Fleetwood Mac playlist on and started making breakfast, dancing to 'Rhiannon'. I quickly ate my toast and drank some juice with it, after that, I walked back to my room and threw my uniform on without thinking, I suddenly noticed what I was doing and groaned. I was not in the mood to change right now, I'd change later this afternoon anyway, I also didn't want anyone to see me in sweats and with a bedhead so I guess it didn't matter that much. I grabbed my phone and keys and left my apartment. I walked to the lift and traveled one floor higher. I walked over to Jane's apartment and knocked on the door.

"I'll be right there!" Was heard followed by some heavy curse words, making me chuckle slightly. Soon the door opened and in the doorway stood my beautiful friend. She looked better than yesterday, her face was less tired and less terrified, her clothes neater and a smile plastered on her face.

"Hi, how are you now?" I asked and Jane smiled, pulling me into a tight hug.

"Way better than yesterday, it really helped to have my parents over. Please, come in." Jane said and I nodded, following her into the apartment. I smiled at the neatly organized apartment and turned to Jane.

"I'm always amazed by how neat and pretty your apartment is, mine gets very messy, very easily," I said, making Jane smile her bright and gorgeous smile.

"Thank you so much, uh, would you like something to drink?" Jane asked and I nodded.

"It just has to cool down in the fridge first, I just bought it.' She laughed and I smiled along.

"I don't mind, so how have you been holding up?" I asked and Jane shrugged.

"Well it's gonna take a while to settle, I guess. I've never experienced something so traumatizing, but I will have to learn to live with it." She sighed and I nodded understandingly. I placed my hand on hers and smiled reassuringly.

"You're a strong woman, you'll get through this," I said and Jane smiled, a single tear dropping from the corner of her eye. She breathily laughed and wiped the tear away, sniffling before quickly changing the subject.

"So, how have you been doing? Found any clues or suspects yet?" Jane asked, but I shook my head.

"Sadly, no. But Harry and I are working on it and we've figured out that the victims were killed by poisoning, the stabbing wounds and strangling marks were just an extra, the real cause of their deaths was poison. Though Stacy wasn't poisoned, which made us wonder if the mole at the station could also be the killer..." I trailed off, making Jane's eyes widen.

"So we're basically working with a serial killer, but we don't know who it is?"
