Just so you know that GORGEOUS lady in the picture up there is our main villain.

~~

Third Person:

Kirishima and Bakugou stared blankly at the guy who yelled out. He had tripped over and fallen to the floor but that wasn't exactly the problem. It was more that he had a really large duffle bag and a gun while his clothes were clearly stained with blood. That's a lot of red flags.

Kirishima and Bakugou both took a minute to comprehend what was going on. Not to mention that Bakugou was already extremely pissed that the moment he had spent so long to set up got wrecked.

Then it clicked for Kirishima, not only was this a villain that they should be stopping but he's seen this guy before. It was Kaiden from the pawn shop.

"So Kaiden... I'm gonna have to ask you to-", Kirishima started to reason with Kaiden.

However that really didn't work. Instead Kaiden got up and RAN for the hills. Kirishima tailed not to far behind him while dragging Bakugou with him.

"Who the fuck is Kaiden?!?!", Bakugou asked in almost a jealous tone.

"Back when we were investigating the pawn shops for leads, this is one of the employees I talked too. This must mean that our lead did go somewhere! But first let's catch this guy!"

"Tch! Not a problem for me!"

Bakugou didn't waste a second more before using his quirk to blast ahead. Almost instantly catching up with Kaiden who was frantically trying to get away. The adrenalin definitely kicked in as he managed to dodge Bakugou's grasp by a split second. Letting him get away once again but not too far.

They kept up as much as they could while chasing Kaiden like a wild goose. This kept on going until they were practically on the other side of town. Definitely far from Bakugou's perfect spot. Eventually they managed to pin down their target.

"Alright Kaiden, it's over. What's in the bag and why do you have blood on you? Don't make this harder than it has to be." Red Riot asked trying his best to be rational.

"NEVER!" Kaiden yelled and spit at the red hero.

"Do that again and you'll be a deadman!", GroundZero threatened with little hesitation.

"Go ahead I'm already dead on the inside!"

The statement took the two heroes off guard for a moment but it didn't make them lose focus entirely. After all, this is the first new lead they've had since their investigation. No way they'd let this chance get away.

Kaiden struggles in Ground Zero's grasp, trying anything he could do to break free. He looked around the area frantically in hopes of finding something to help him out.

From the corner of his eye he spotted someone he knew. Shouting out to them for help.

"Floyd come help me out here!"

The guy that Kaiden called out to, apparently named Floyd, must've been a fellow henchman or something like that. Not to mention that Floyd made no hesitation jumping in with punches. Because of that, it didn't take long for these two reckless idiots managed to get free.

At first the two heros were more than ready to go back at it and get these criminals captured. Alas our villains here had another plan.

"You'll never stop us!! HAIL SOVEREIGN!", Kaiden yelled out with confidence in his voice.

Following Kaiden's statement Floyd screamed out "SMOKE BOMB!" then proceeded to throw down a smoke bomb.

Red Riot and Ground Zero coughed as the smoke slowly started to clear away. As soon as they were able to see again the two villains were far gone. Well... Ground Zero managed to catch a quick glimpse of them scurrying away. Urging him to go right back after them, but was quickly stopped by his partner.

"Wait! There's no need to keep chasing them, right now we need to think about everything we just learned...", Red Riot tried to reason to Ground Zero to calm him down.

"And what that! Last I checked there seems to be a lot of stuff you know that I don't."

"Well for one that Kaiden guy. I mentioned he worked at one of the pawn shops I investigated. Now we know that he's definitely connected. Not to mention he yelled 'hail Sovereign'. Now I don't exactly know what he meant but the pawn shop he works in is literally called Sovereign Keeps. That could mean we were close and they were stopping us from finding the truth."

"That... works. We need to gather the other heroes again to plan our next move, we won't have long before they try to relocate. Let's be happy that twiddle dee and twiddle dumb couldn't keep their mouths shut."

~meanwhile somewhere else~

"Sovereign... We've been informed that two heros have discovered Kaiden on his mission. We believe they know where we are located."

"Oh? Kaiden messed up... well looks like we lost a piece...", a chipper voice spoke as she played with chess pieces.

"What shall we do Sovereign? Relocate?"

"No, not yet. They'll be expecting us too. Even so we have something else to take care of first. Where's Kaiden?"

Kaiden stumbled into the room nervously. He clearly didn't want to be there.

"Kaiden, how are you doing today? Have a good dinner?"

"I- I'm so sorry miss. I let myself get caught for a moment. I-"

"Answer my question Kaiden."

"Oh uh- My day? It started pretty nice but ended really sour. D-"

Sovereign heel slammed to the floor with anger.

"WHO CARES ABOUT YOUR DAY! YOU FAILED YOUR MISSION AND LET THE HERO'S KNOW OF OUR LOCATION."

"Please Sovereign I had no intent of causing trouble! I planned everything perfectly I just never expected Red Riot and Ground Zero to be off duty in the same place as my route!"

"Red Riot? Oh, that is a pleasant surprise to this tragedy." She then gently picked up a knight piece from her chess board, holding it ever so tenderly. "I didn't think I'd be seeing my Knight in Red armor so soon~"

Kaiden was about to speak again, or more likely beg for forgiveness.

"Now before I forget. Kaiden!"

"Yes Sovereign?"

"We have a grand battle ahead of us and I need every piece to be perfection."

"Of course your eminence!"

"Good. I'm glad we can agree that there's no room for faulty pieces here."

Kaiden looked up in fear, realizing what she had meant. Two henchmen grabbed his shoulders and started to drag him away.

"No.. Nonono! Please! I promise I can be better! I'll become a perfect piece! I beg of you-"

Like that he was gone from sight.

"Oh please... I already have the perfect piece at my disposal. I just need to wait for him to arrive." Sovereign spoke softly to herself while caressing her left hand. An evil smile crept it's way onto her face.

She had the board set, now to wait for the opponent.

Heyo! So I wanted to say two things!

1. if you didn't realize Sovereign is Sonya from chapter 11. She's our big evil villain. as for the whole Sovereign thing. Look it up and it'll make sense from there

2. Chapter updates came a little quicker this time. I know what I wanted to write here, word for word and I don't have much going on so I can put more energy into writing. I can't say this'll last forever so I'm trying to write as much as I can now. Publishing twice a month would be great though!

That's all for now! see you guys around!
