I know this isn't USWNT but it was requested on my Tumblr so here it is!

Y/N POV

Jessie and I walked into practice together laughing at something she said. We joined a group of our friends and set our stuff down.

"It looks like the lovebirds finally decided to show up." Kennedy teased us.

I rolled my eyes and saw a red tint come up on Jessie's cheeks.

It was no secret that Jessie and I had been close. We are both midfielders and both seniors so we've been on our college journey together.

Most of my teammates knew about my crush on Jessie. I've liked her since my sophomore year when she saved me from a persistent girl at a party. She stepped in as my 'girlfriend'. I realized that I really liked the idea of having Jessie as my girlfriend and it's been that way ever since.

We split into groups based on our positions for practice. Jessie and I were partnered together because we have the same skill level. We worked on different skills and then we played a scrimmage game. Once practice was over our friend group gathered.

"Y/N and I were going to have lunch at my place if you guys wanted to stop by." Jessie offered as we were walking to our cars.

"Sure we'll swing through." Teagan put her stuff in her car.

"See you guys in a few." I smiled as I got into the passenger seat of Jessie's car. I opened Instagram and looked through my tagged pictures. I came across an edit of Jessie and I celebrating after a game. I'm not going to lie. I love looking at the fan edits. It makes me feel like Jessie and I are actually dating. I know it sounds creepy but it's true.

Jessie gets in the car and looks at me with a smile. "What's got you all smiley over there?"

I look up quickly and blush. "Oh, nothing. My mom just texted me something sweet."

Time Skip to World Cup Final

Wow. My team just won the world cup. Here I am standing on the field with confetti surrounding me. I hear someone squeal and look at Mal who runs up to Jessie and almost tackles her in a hug.

Jessie keeps herself and Mal from falling. Mal says a few things to Jessie that I can't hear before Jessie walks over to me and gives me a bone-crushing hug.

"You did it. I'm so proud of you." She mumbled into my neck and I hug her tightly.

"I'm so proud of you too. You did amazing in the world cup." Jessie lets go and I see Alex and Kelley walking past. They're both smirking at me and I pray that they don't say anything stupid since they both know I like Jessie.

"Awe baby USA and baby Canada together," Kelley says as she makes kissy faces at us.

"Just don't be too loud when you're celebrating together tonight ok?" Alex says as she pulls Kelley away from us. As I'm turning a very bright red Jessie speaks up.

"Y/N I have a question to ask you. I've been thinking about it for a while. I saw your phone when I got in the car that day after practice. I saw the edit of us on your phone and you seemed so happy. I was just wondering if you liked the idea of us being a couple as much as I do?" Jessie bit her lip nervously as she looked at me.

"Are you kidding me? Jessie, I've liked you for almost 3 years now. I love looking at the edits and imagining what it would be like to have you as a girlfriend." I ran a hand through my hair before looking at her lips. "I like you a lot Jessie."

Jessie smiles widely. She leans in and kisses me and I feel the sparks fly. We pull back when we hear someone whistle. I look and see Mal cheering us on. I roll my eyes.

"That'll give the fans something to edit," I say still in shock of what just happened.

"Yeah, that's for sure. Now go get drunk with your teammates. We'll have more than enough time to celebrate when you get back to California."

I nod before giving Jessie a quick peck on the lips and walk back to the locker room smiling to myself. I just won the world cup and scored the girl of my dreams.
