Today was game day. The USWNT was playing Canada in a friendly. Everyone knew it was going to be anything but friendly, though. I was in the backline waiting for the game to start and I looked to minefield to see my girlfriend, Tobin. She had her game face on and I knew she was locked in. Tobin and I have been dating for the past year and a half. We are very different from each other. Mostly appearance. I'm 6'0 and my body is covered in tattoos. Off the field many people say I look intimidating. Nothing is more intimidating than Tobin's game face though. It's kinda scary. Anyway, the game was off to a good start. We were up 2-1 at the half. They had been giving Tobin a tough time all game. I was about ready to snap so when Tobin went to take a shot and a Canadian defender knocked her to the ground I had had enough. Tobin went down. Hard. Some of the girls went to talk to the ref but I went straight to the problem. I walked up to the defender and shoved her before she could say anything. She started to get in my face and as I pulled my arm back I felt strong arms pull me back. I turned to see Alyssa giving me a stern look. "You should've let me swing! They've been targeting Tobin all night." I let out a frustrated sigh. Alyssa was about to say something when Tobin stepped in front of me. "It's nothing I can't handle babe." She said softly. My face softened as I saw that she was ok. We were brought back to reality as the ref gave the Canadian a red card. I glared at her as she walked off the field. "It was pretty hot to see you mad like that though," Tobin smirked as she walked to take her penalty kick. I laughed to myself as she walked away. At least we ended up getting the last laugh by winning the game 3-1.
