Metin was stunned. The last thing he thought Can would be worried about in this situation was a girl. Knowing that he was still waiting for answer, he yielded.

'Because she's not like any of the women you've dated and she wouldn't tolerate you like they did. Plus, what would you do with her? As soon as we get you out of here, you'll be off to Antarctica.'

He made the joke to cheer him up but was sad to see his disappointment. He changed the subject so he could get him to focus on the problem at hand.

'Ok, I need to go now find out where your camera is and see what they have on you. I'll make sure we see a judge by tomorrow the latest, and try to get you out on bail. All you need to do is try to think of anything that can help us.' He got up from the chair, headed to the door.

Can was lost in his thoughts but nodded to everything.

'Thank you, Metin!'

'Ok, don't worry too much, we'll get out of this. I'll make sure they get you to a doctor soon, it seems like your memory is not the only problem.'

'Ok Can, we just got your results back'
A middle-aged doctor wearing a white coat came into the room where Can was sitting on a chair distracted. Metin had arranged for him to see a doctor a few hours after they talked.

The doctor walked around his desk and sat in front of Can.

'Alright Can, it seems that you have a concussion, clearly you've suffered a blow to the head.' He pointed to his head to emphasize.

'This would explain why you've been feeling dizzy and tired.'

'and my memory? Is that why I can't remember anything that happened last night?'

'It's possible, which is why we took a CT scan to make sure you don't have any serious head injury but the results showed that there's no swelling or bleeding.'

Can looked at him inquisitively, waiting for more explanation.

'What this means is, you've suffered a concussion but it's nothing serious. I know you're in some pain right now but your symptoms should subside in a few days or weeks. We can give you pain meds for your headache till then, you just have to rest. As for your memory, it could've been caused by your injury but for now, it appears that your injury is not severe enough to cause that type of amnesia. Your memory loss is most likely a repressed memory. Sometimes our brain blocks memories that were too traumatic for us to experience in order to protect itself. Considering your circumstances, it is likely it's what's happened to you.'

Can was processing all of the information that was being given to him. He was still a little confused but he understood that he was going to be fine, physically at least. But his concerns were not limited to his health, he needed to know what happened last night or he could be charged with murder.

'You said repressed memory? Will I also get them back in a few days, when I recover?'

'You might... but if they are repressed memories like I suspect, they are unrelated to your concussion. You need to go to therapy or find a way to trigger your memories so they can come back.'

Can sat still on his chair, trying to comprehend his diagnoses. His head was still foggy and felt like it was being pressed hard against his skull.

'I know this may not be the news you were looking for but at least there's no life threatening brain injury. We will still monitor you for 24 hours in case your condition worsens. I will tell the officers who brought you in.'
The doctor got up and left the room to inform the police standing outside of the room, as Can sat motionless.
