Bulut hurried to get his pants on and look decent before Sanem entered Deren's office. He imagined they'd talked about him at this point but wasn't sure to what extent, and by the looks of how Deren was rushing to button up her blouse it was clear that they shouldn't be caught.
'Give me a minute Sanem' she said as she was fixing her hair.
'You have to hide' she turned to him and pulled him around towards her closet.
'No I have to go now, Sarp and I have some field work... like now' He looked at the time, he was running a few minutes late.
'Bulut!' She whisper screamed angry that he wasn't taking her seriously. She would be so embarrassed if anyone found out what they've been doing in her office. But he didn't seem the least bit worried about it.
'Sorry' he apologized before he kissed her and shut her up. 'I'm really late' He added then unlocked the door for Sanem.
'Good morning, Sanem! Sorry I have to leave right now' He said in a nonchalant voice and walked past her to leave.
Sanem's jaw dropped at the sight of Bulut and Deren could see that she immediately drew her conclusion. Deren could only imagine how red her cheeks flushed in that moment.
'Sanem?'
'Deren?' Sanem closed the door behind her with a stupid smile across her face. 'What happened to ending it with Bulut? Huh? You couldn't help yourself could you?'
'Can we just pretend you didn't see that?' She covered her face with her hands and turned back to her desk. Much to her chagrin, Sanem laughed at her.
'Come on Deren, I was just teasing... I think this is great. Bulut is wonderful for you, I've always thought so. Plus, who am I to judge when it comes to these things?' That was enough to relax Deren and she was finally able to look up at Sanem.
'What happened?'
'Nothing...'
'What is it? How's Can?' She could tell something was bothering her.
'He's ok... I think'
'So why are you so tense?'
'Ughhh I'm just so confused... I've definitely crossed the line with him... I mean not all the way but enough to get me in trouble if anyone found out. And that's not even the part that's really bothering me... I've only known him for a few days and my guard is down. I mean you know me, I'm not like this, but Can gets to me for some reason and part of me is worried that I'm completely blinded by him, like I have tunnel vision. When I'm working on his case, I'm only thinking of ways that I could prove he's innocent but what if he isn't?'
'I understand Sanem, you're worried that maybe he's really guilty and using you in all of this. I get it. You know how I feel about Can so I won't bother saying it now but I don't for a second doubt that you won't be able to be objective in this case. Do you want to know what I think?'
'Yeah'
'I think you're worried that you're falling for him and you're scared. You're scared that something might go wrong and you want to protect yourself before it's too late.'
'Falling for him? No... I'm attracted to him... yes... but I don't think that means that I'm in love with him' Sanem said unconvincingly.
'I don't know I've never seen you worked up about a guy like this. Maybe I'm wrong but...' Deren shrugged but didn't want to push her any further.
'And I think he feels the same way' She added and saw Sanem's expression change dramatically.
'How would you know that?' She sat at the edge of her seat much like a middle school girl eager to know more about her crush.
