CHAPTER ONE
FIREWALK

Angelina felt totally out of her element. Out near the old mill in the middle of the night, in a room of with blasting music and filled to the brim with people, reeking of alcohol. Yeah, she was sure to get into some trouble later for sneaking out. Her hand was gripping the fabric of Rachel's jacket quite tightly as they danced around in the mosh pit, not wanting to get lost in the crowd. Though as it got more and more stuffy Angelina let go of her jacket which had caught the attention of Rachel.

"What's up?" Rachel yelled over the music, turning to look at Angelina. "Getting a bit claustrophobic, just gonna step out for a bit. I'll make my way back." Angelina told her. Rachel gave her a thumbs up as an answer before letting her go off to do her own thing.

Angelina pushed past the many sweaty bodies around her, keeping her sights on the reddish hue of the lights coming from the other room. She made it only a few steps to the exit before an arm of an overly intoxicated man swung out and knocked into her back. Angelina stumbled, attempting to catch herself but instead bumped into another person. There was a light gasp and the sound of liquid splashing out of a bottle.

Looking up she saw the relatively familiar face of Chloe Price and the not-so-familiar face of a man looming behind her. His shirt was stained with a large wet stain. The man shrugged the arm of his supposed friend off him before he turned back to the two girls. "Hey, you two ok?" He asked, his tone making a shiver run down Angelina's spine. "I'm fine." Chloe curtly said attempting to push past the man and his buddy. Angelina just nodded and stood there frozen in her place.

She had only heard rumors about the type of people that come to these kinds of places. It was a huge reason that almost played into her not showing up at all. Now here she was facing one of the guys that was clearly not to be messed with, at least in Angelina's mind, standing in front of her and clearly pissed off because of something she indirectly caused. If only it wasn't for Rachel then she'd probably be at home either rehearsing her play for the hundredth time or working on her homework.

"Relax. You bumped into me, remember?" The man said as he moved into Chloe's path, blocking her from leaving. "It-it was an accident!" Angelina suddenly shouted. The man looked away from Chloe and to her. "I was the one that bumped into her, it's... uhm... sorry." She stuttered out, intimidated by his gaze. "You don't know who I am, do you?" He said as he moved away from Chloe and right in front of Angelina. Chloe reached around in the open space and grabbed Angelina's wrist, tugging her towards herself. "Nope. We don't care, either." "Let me know how that works out for you." The man called over to the girls as they walked further away from him. Over her shoulder, she sent them the middle finger.

"Well, mosh pit is a no go." Chloe sighed and let go of Angelina's wrist. "Sorry about all of that." She apologized quietly, holding her hands behind her back. Chloe turned around to face her, her hands coming to rest on her hips as she spoke. "I didn't expect to see little miss prodigy in some place like this." Angelina sheepishly smiled. "I kinda got dragged here by a friend. I don't think I'll be able to get back now that I pissed off those guys." "Well, well, well! What a shock to see you here!"

Angelina looked over as Heather, Chloe's friend, made her way over to the pair. A couple of tee shirts were thrown over her shoulder as she shoved her wallet back into her pocket. She threw her arm over Chloe's shoulder but kept her eyes on Angelina. "What're you doing here?" She asked. "Got dragged here by a friend, she's stuck out of the pit now cause of some dickbags." Chloe informed her, shrugging Heather's arm off of her. "Why don't you join us?" Heather suddenly offered. "I'm sure we could find some good spots still and you won't have to be here all alone."

Angelina's eyebrows raised in a mix of surprise and confusion. "What? Are you serious?" Heather shrugged. "I mean I don't mind. Chlo?" She looked over to her friend. Chloe looked back at her friend before looking at Angelina. "Yeah, I don't mind."

"Fuck yes! We're finally here Chloe!" Heather cheered as she ran off to the edge of the deck.

Since there was no way any of them were going to try and weasel their way into the mosh pit they had to find an alternative way to watch the band, Firewalk as mentioned to her in the form of loud screaming by both Chloe and Heather. They had decided to take their chances up on the upper deck, despite the protests from Angelina that the floor was rotted and old.

Angelina watched from behind as Chloe and Heather slowly got lost in the music. She could even feel herself starting to move to the beat. The light and fun feeling in her chest was put out as quickly as it started to grow as two hands pressed into Angelina's side and gave her a hard shove.

"Hey!" Angelina choked out, turning to see who had shoved her. There stood the man she had bumped into earlier, his goon of a friend standing close by. Angelina swallowed dryly. "You spilled my beer, bitch." The guy spat at her as he got in her face. "I told you it was an accident!" Angelina swore, backing up only for the man to step closer. "I don't like your attitude." The guy growled at her poking his finger into her rib cage. The pressure of it making her wince.

Chloe's hand wrapped around Angelina's wrist for the second time that night. She stepped in between to pair of them, her eyebrows furrowed in frustration from this guy bothering them again. "How about I show you how unimpressed I am with limp dick assholes who get butthurt over a spilled beer." Chloe told him. "I think she's calling us out, dude." The guys goon of a friend egged him on. The guy nodded along in agreement. "She's going to regret every word. Every. Word."

"Hey! Why don't you calm down." Heather spoke up, stepping closer to the altercation forming in front of her. The guy turned to look at her and his anger seemed to grow tenfold at her attempt of deescalating the situation. His arm swinging out and breaking the empty beer bottle in his hand before attempting to swipe at her. "Hey, dickhead!"

Angelina sighed in relief when she Rachel standing in the doorway that led to the rotting staircase. Her arms waving to get the guy's attention as she yelled. With the man distracted with the yelling Chloe grabbed the man by the shoulders and jammed her knee up into his crotch. As the man fell to the floor in pain his friend turned to Chloe and sucker punched her right in her eye. She recovered quickly though, tugging Angelina along as she jogged over to Rachel with Heather following behind them.

"Rachel?" Chloe asked, now having a clear look at the girl who saved them from their situation. But with the men now standing back up Rachel simply waved the group of girls to follow her. "Come on!" She told Chloe before running down the stairs. The group followed after her without a second thought down the stairs and to the doorway that led to the mosh pit.

"I'm so glad you found us!" Angelina cheered and slipped her wrist out of Chloe's hand before throwing her arms around her friends neck. "What would you do without me." Rachel smiled cheekily at her before her eyes diverted back to the staircase where the men were jogging down after them. Angelina didn't know who he was but nonetheless she was thankful for the strange man who blocked their path. As Rachel dragged her back through the crowed Angelina could faintly remember seeing Chloe blowing them a nice and big fuck you.
