By nine o'clock it's like all my mood swings are gone and I'm perfectly fine. More than fine, even. I'm oozing with impatience awaiting Calum's last hour for today to come to an end.

I'm seated on the same bench we last sat on together. I've got my headphones on and chin tucked in my scarf, keeping real warm. I don't hear him when he's near. I am too busy cocking my head back and forth to the beat to even take notice. That was until he rips the headphone right off my ears.

"Dude, chill out-" I say before I realise it's Calum.

He sets himself beside me on the bench with all relaxation. "I've been calling you out for the past two minutes." His voice deep and serious.

"You have not." I state, rolling my eyes. I turn down the volume, decreasing the loud lyrics into a soft hum.

"Flaming Forest, ay?" Calum's smirk is both something you want to always see but don't. You only don't because of the effect it haves on one's self.

"I didn't know your taste is that good!"

He scoffs and stares ahead for a while. Then - outta the blue - he's standing, his heavy winter shoes kicking at the gravel. "C'mon," he barks. "Let's go."

"Woah," I reply, my head jumping back a little as I did so. "Slow down there speed racer. Where'we going?"

Calum chuckles at me, eyes squinting and everything.

"The second I came out that door," he point to the front door of the station, "And you were seating here," he now's pointing at my spot on the bench, "You'd agreed to come. And might I add, you agreed to come even when you didn't know where. So. You're just gonna have to let me lead."

Maybe it was an ounce of fear that soon turned into curious adrenalin which caused me to follow beside the older lad. Even so there was also a little squeaky voice in the back of my mind telling me - screaming for me - not to go. Of course I've learned well to ignore that voice pretty well.

He doesn't lead me to a car, we just keep walking. Calum'd take a few glances towards me, as if seeing if I'm still coming along.

"Okay. Okay, c'mon, mate. The suspense is killing me here."

He doesn't respond to me till a few blocks later.

"Do you like the fireworks?"

I scoff, regret of coming along starting to grow more with each step. "Believe it or not, fireworks used to scare the shit out of me as a young lass. Now I guess they're alright . . . Why? You're not taking us firework shooting are you? I'm-"

Calum gives his head a shake, his laugh barely audible.

Not much too long later, "Are we there yet?" I nag.

We're seeming to be just on the bridge of town. I mean, we've walked for so long.

"I'm not following you just so you can drag me in some alley and murder me, right?" I didn't want to admit I thought something like that of him. Although, if that was his intention, he's had plenty of chances.
