Morris residence, downtown Vanderbilt City, Iowa, USA. The next day.

Reese sat in his bed, looking at the picture of his now dead fiancee. She had her hands outstretched, wide grin in front of the Pike Place Market sign in Seattle. It was a better time, before he was called back into the fray by Bill.

He looked out the window at the city. He wiped tears away, knowing Anthony and the Sentinels would be gunning for him now.

Once more, Reese was alone in his struggle against the world. He then looked to the small pedestal he had wired in his apartment from the Captain's ship last year, and the A.I. that rest within.

"Alison..." Reese spoke, to which Alison's avatar appeared.

"Yes, Reese?"

Reese reached for the bottom of the alien terminal, and pulled a small, cylindrical device no bigger than an eraser from it. Alison's avatar flickered away, her programming now in the tube.

"It's time."

Reese headed for the door, saying goodbye to the penthouse.

Several weeks later...

(Sentinels HQ)

Anthony and the Sentinels studied the footage sent from the senior command at the classified installation known as Area 51. From the tearing of steel, to some of the base personnel having aneurysms, to some being kicked, punched and thrown into the air, they all knew it was Reese.

It was bad enough he killed Eli, almost killing Amber. Li, the Immortal Monk, had to tap into his chi reserves to revive Eli and heal Amber. It was sombering to see for the 2,000 year old Monk.

They watched as he paused in front of one of the base cameras.

"Bill, Anthony and Sentinels. I'm sorry, but this is the only way I can atone for what I did. I was so angry at what happened to Tricia, I wasn't thinking clearly, and I gave myself a dose of an alien combat stimulant; it gave my powers a jumpstart, but at the cost of my mind. I know it won't make up for the fact I'm a murderer, so this is the only choice I have...I'm sorry to all of you."

Bill then noted the information General Walton Moore had sent: aside from three dead guards, dozens more wounded, and almost thirteen million in damage, there was one key piece of technology missing...the spaceship that belonged to the alien Captain that Reese had fought. Satellites last tracked it zooming out of the atmosphere into deep space.

"What do we do, Bill?" Darian asked.

"What can we do? Just...let him go. He chose the best option; it was either that or be a fugitive."

"I guess you're right...I hope that we can try and move forward from this..."

"We will." Bill replied, staring out the window into space, wondering where Reese would wind up.
