I was let out a couple days later but it killed me My baby girl was in there on those machines. She looked more alive everyday though. "Dad!" I hugged him. He hugged me. "Let's go home baby. " He said.
"Get some sleep. " My dad advised. "Okay. I love you daddy and I'm sorry. " I said before walking up the steps. He nodded. I laid in my old bed like my old life. Before I ever slept with my teacher and before I ever became a mother. My eyes closed and I drifted to another land.
I woke up to the smell of eggs and bacon. I slowly went down the steps holding my lower stomach no had a dull pain. "Hello. " My dad said. "Hi dad. " I slowly sat at the table. My dad sat across from me. "Are you okay?" He asked. "Yea I'm just hurt. " I softly said. "Why?" He asked. "Daddy I loved him. " I said as tears fell down my cheek. "Now this picture I had is gone and I feel like life is over. " I cried holding my chest. "Laela. I'm sorry this has happened. But I can't help you if you go back to him. " My dad shrugged. "I know. I would be stupid to go back anyways after the situation. What about Elena?" I asked wiping some stray tears. "If he wants to be there, I won't deny it but you two together is a big no. " He simply said. "Better not let him woo you like before Laela...." he added. I nodded lightly. "Thank you for taking me back dad. " I softly said. "You're welcome. I'm glad to have my daughter back and a little granddaughter now." He smiled. I begun eating feeling like old times.
The next day was better. I had a stale pain now. My dad also took me to see Elena. She finally had fleshy looking skin I was holding her and she was so small. Then the door opened. "My two favorite girls!" It was Jarrod. "Leave right now Jarrod. " My dad stood up. "Well I'm here to talk to my wife." Jarrod snapped. "I'm gonna call security. You cra-" "you didn't tell him?" Jarrod cut my dad off. "Tell me what?" My dad looked at me. I shook my head. "I'm married to your daughter. " Jarrod shrugged. "About 4 months, right?" He added looking at me. "Laela." my dad said. "I'm sorry dad. " I gently said. "Im not with him anymore. it was a spur of the moment thing. " I said almost in tears holdings Elena. "I'm gonna get security. " My dad walked out. "Wow really Laela?" Jarrod asked. "Really, what?" I asked standing up. "Going back to your father, leaving me al-" "you left me!" I cut him off. I put Elena in her crib. I grabbed his hand pulling him out. "I know what I did was terrible but I just couldn't bare the possibility of going to jail and never being able to see you...... or Elena. " He backed me on the wall with both handspropping him over me on the sides of my face. "I would've told you but she said if I told..... deal was off. " He told me. "I could've kept a secret. " I told him lightly. "I didn't wanna risk it but I already lost you. " He said putting his forehead on mine. "I want you back Laela Garrett. " he said low. His lips touched mine and my hands clenched. My body took over itself cutting my brain off. My hands held his sides. Our kiss became more intimate until walking erupted. i let go of him moving back. "Laela. Are you okay?" Dad came. Two security guys were with him. "Yes dad. " I nodded. "You can leave voluntarily or...." one of the security guys came to Jarrod. "Whatever. Call me baby. " He scuffed walking. "You won't be calling him later. " My dad angrily said.
"Hi. " I smiled as I let Jarrod into my bedroom window. "Hey. " He begun kissing me picking up. I wrapped my legs around him holding his shoulders. "oh!" I groaned as he kissed my neck. "Shh. " He told me lightly. "It's funner if we don't get caught. " He smiled.
I got Jarrod out before the sun rose and I felt happy yet guilty. He's my husband and I love him but to many mistakes happened and I'm suppose to be following my dad's rules so I can be well token care of. He's paying for Elena's treatment afterward. I was conflicted.
"Hi dad. " I walked into the den. "Hello princess. " He simply said. "Hey Laela. " A familiar face turned. My heart dropped. "Chance!" I said holding my chest. "Laela. Me and Chance have been talking. He agrees to take you back after all this time and errors. " My dad stood up with a smile. "It will be like before. " Chance smiled standing also. He had on a tie. "This will show me you're ready to move on. " My dad added. Tears fell down my eyes. Chance came over. "I just want to help you. " He whispered. He hugged me but my hands just stayed to my chest.
"No! Absolutely not!" Jarrod said on the phone. "My dad said its the only way he would pay for Elena's treatment. " I reasoned. "I will get more jobs! No!" He angrily yelled. "Did I have a say in when you were messing around with Nancy?" I asked lightly. "I'm doing what I have to do so Elena can make it. " I added. "But what if her parents arnt happy? I don't think I could forgive you if you....." he stopped. "If I what? Do what you did? Is this your conscious speaking. Are you feeling guilt about you and Nancy?" I asked irritated yet calm. "Of course! " He yelled. "I don't think I could forgive myself if I crawl back to you like this. " I sighed and hung up. I laid back against my bed sighing. I have all my online homework done.
"So. Are you and Elena's dad talking?" Chance asked as we were in the den. "Yea. We kinda have to. " I shrugged. "Why are you so cold to me?" He asked scooting closer to me. "You know why!" I rolled my eyes. "Yea I know but....." he swiftly held my chin kissing me. Our lips moved in union. I shook my head smiling. "Stop pretending like we never had anything. " He kissed me again quickly and stood up. "I have a meeting with some Yale people. " He sighed. I sat up looking at him. What did I fall in love with about him? "see you at dinner. " He winked.
