I walked up Jarrod's driveway with a bag. I knocked on the door. I took a deep breath and it opened. "Hey. Are you okay?" He asked. I just stepped closer hugging him. "Can I come in?" I asked lightly. "Yea. " He stepped to the side holding the door open. I came in and he closed the door. "Everything okay?" He asked. "Yea. I'm sorry. " I softly said hugging him again. "baby. You're scaring me. " He said concerned. He held my lower back. "I know. Go to your room and I will be in there in 10 minutes. " I whispered holding his face. "Okay...." he said confused. He let go walking backwards. He turned halfway through the hall and went to his room. I looked around and there was pizza boxes and other food containers everywhere! I pulled my cloths off and put the lingerer on that was in the bag. I walked down the hall and got to his room. I walked in and Jarrod was sitting at the end of his bed. He jumped when I walked in. "Laela. " He said surprised. I went to him and straddled him. "I missed you so much. " I smiled wrapping my arms around his neck. "I missed you too. " He said caressing my arms. "Can I come home?" I asked pouting my lips out a bit. "Yea. " He nodded kissing me. He pulled me against him falling back. "I love you. " I told him serious. We kissed passionately and I regretted nothing.
"You okay?" Jarrod asked playing with my baby hairs. I looked up at him. "I'm happy. " I smiled. "Me too." He agreed. I snuggled closer to him laying my head on his chest. "We'll get your stuff tomorrow. " He hummed. "Okay. " I nodded.
In the morning we waited for my dad to drive off. I lied last night saying I was staying at Brittany's. We went straight to my room packing things. "What if I get you pregnant again?" He asked holding me from behind. I smiled sinking into again. "I would be disappointed but We'll make it. " I snuggled into him. "I love you. " He said kissing my cheek. "Love you too." I turned to face him. "When we get home, we're gonna clean up and make up for lost time. " I smiled holding his face. he nodded and kissed me. "Let's get the rest of my stuff. " I smiled.
We walked down the steps and was startled. "Wow. Laela, I give you the world, this is how you repay me?" My dad stood there. "Dad, I need to follow my heart..." I softly said. "Follow your heart? your mother followed her heart and what happened?" My dad snapped. My jaw dropped. "She found a new life and left us!" My dad yelled. "I told you to never bring that up!" I angrily say. "You bring it up everytime you're angry! I can see you're just like your mother!" He yelled. "Mom didn't leave us! You drove her away with your overbearing ways!" I yelled shaking the house. "Come on."Jarrod pulled me by my wrist. My eyes burned into my dads as we went out the door.
"I thought your mom was dead. " Jarrod said after we cleaned up the living room. "To me and my father. She was. " I shrugged. Jarrod came to me and pulled me to the couch sitting me on his lap. "My mother has always been a wild child I guess. My dad and her were bestfriends since they were 5! Then we they became teens... They begun dating. Well my mom got pregnant with me.... when she was 17. I guess she got so depressed she tried to kill me by drinking tons of alcohol. " I shrugged. Jarrod rubbed my back. "My dad convinced her to calm down and when I was born.... I guess everything was okay until I turned 3... She wanted to go back to her old ways and left us. " I begun crying. "A couple years ago, I looked her up and I found her Facebook... She has a husband and two kids. " I said crying harder. I dropped my head to Jarrods neck wanting to just forget. "I'm sorry. " Jarrod held me tight.
We drove to the hospital the next day to see Elena. She looked so healthy! I had her in my arms and kissed her cheek. "She's so gorgeous. " Jarrod said looking away. "Awww Jarrod. " I smiled. He looked at us and his eyes were red. "I love you baby. " I told him. "I love you too. " He smiled nodding. He sat next to us and I handed her gently to him. His hand carefully held her up. "I will love her forever. " He said kissing her nose. She opened her mouth and eyes. " aw. " I smiled.
"Let's get Elena's room together. " Jarrod said as we were leaving the hospital. "Okay. " I smiled. He put his arm around me pulling me close. "I love you and I'm glad we're together" I told him. "Me too. " He agreed and kissed my forehead.
