"So are you fine with her having Elena?" My dad asked. "I love her enough to understand. " Chance said and shrugged. "So what's the plan? College, family,kids?" He asked. My heart stopped. "Dad. " I cried. "Uhmm. Maybe we can get her into Yale next year, I want to start a family with her and Elena. " Chance quietly said.
"Wow. What the hell?" Jarrod said on the phone. "I know it's weird. " I shook my head. "When can I visit you again?" He suddenly asked. "I don't think there will be a next time. " I gently say. "Laela." he said angry. "You're gonna listen to your dad and get back with Chance?" He asked. "I have to. " I angrily said. "No you do not! Why don't you do what's gonna make me happy?" He yelled back just as angry. "Because i won't be happy in the long run. struggling and scared?" I got quiet. " what does that mean?" He asked upset. "If you talked to the doctors, you would know Elena has a long road to recovery and treatment with be tens to hundreds of thousands of she gets bad. How do I know you won't cheat on me again?" I ask. "If she gets bad. She's strong laela. I have faith. Do you not faith in her, or us? Or even me?" He asked extremely upset at this point. "No I don't have faith in YOU. " I told him. "You showed me the real you and I hate it. " I hung up and turned my phone off.
I was holding Elena kissing her. She's now the size of a heathy premature baby if that makes sense She was so gorgeous. "You will probably be able to take her home in about a month. " The nurse said. "Really?" I asked excited "Yes. She gets stronger everyday. " The nurse smiled. I kissed her head touching the fuzzy hair on her head.
After I left the hospital. I found myself wanting looking at Jarrod's house. There was a car parked in his driveway. I sat on my porch staring. Then I saw a red head coming out. Nancy. My head nodded with anger. Jarrod followed her to the car opening the door. Nancy hugged him and I stood up. Wow. What the hell is wrong with him? I walked up the steps opening the door angry. He's still messing around with her! I slammed it closed going to the stairs. How could I marry him or give him my body? I went to my computer to take my mind off him with some homework.
I kept my phone off all day. Two can play this dumb game. I was walking Chance to his car and our sides rubbed. He put his arm around me. "Listen, I know I can't make up what I've done. I woke up the next morning to a strong knock. My dad was at work. I got up from bed slowly going down the steps. I got to the door and opened it. "Hello. " It was Jarrod. I stared at him. He had a big bouquet of roses and I big present. "These are for you. " He handed me the flowers first. I sat then on the side table holding my hands out for the big gift. "Okay Ms. Greedy. " He laughed handing it to me. I opened it and it was a big teddy bear. It smelled familiar though. "When you hug it, my smell spreads. " He smiled. "It does smell like you. " I smiled pressing my nose against it. "When is your dad going to be home?" He asked lightly. "Around 3. " I said distracted by my new toy. "Can I come in?" He asked with a light chuckle. "No. " I tried to close the door but his foot caught it. He stepped in and I stared at him. "I love you laela. Will you come home?" He softly asked. "I can't. " I shook my head. I just stared at him. "You have to go bef-" "what the fuck?" A voice called. My dad stood there. My dad took his phone out. "Hello. I have a burglar. " He quickly said and said our address. Jarrod stood up. Then my dad charged Jarrod like a mad man. "Stop guys! Dad I was telling him no!" I tried to grab my dad but Jarrod pushed me back as he fell. I fell onto the wall surprised. "You fucker! " My dad said choking Jarrod. "Uhm hello?" Chance walked in. "Chance help!" I begged. He went to my dad and Jarrod pulling my dad off. He sat my dad at the table and helped Jarrod up. "Mr. Garrett, why are you here and why are you fighting laela's dad?" Chance asked. "He had sex with Laela and Elena is his. " My dad said out of breath. "Laela why didn't you tell me?"
