The drama is starting and Myungsoo loved it. He felt the tension between the main characters. The chaos is growing but it's not there yet. He has to act to get the story to its climax.
Myungsoo can't wait to cause havoc in their lives.
Getting close to Sunggyu is just step one. It's fairly easy; he just has to be a good student and to have the same likes and dislikes. It's easy to get on Sunggyu's good side; you just have to compliment everything that he does and agree with everything that he does. Myungsoo is very careful not to commit a wrong move. He knows that it would completely ruin his plans. Apparently, he knew his 'hyung' well.
Step two is earning Sungyeol's and eventually, Hoya's trust. Myungsoo needed all the information that he can get from the people that are in Sunggyu's life. He cannot leave any stone unturned. Every word, action, and event plays a vital role in his plan. In his agenda.
Myungsoo grimaced at the simple thought of ruining other people's lives. It reminded him of his own. But he delighted in doing such. He felt that he isn't alone. That he's not the only one who has a miserable life.
You'll pay for what you've done Kim, Myungsoo thought. You'll pay for everything.
The usual girls that flocked him veered out of his way. Myungsoo instantly became aware of his present gaze. He felt its intensity and tried to lessen it a bit to calm the ladies. The lovestruck looks came back to their faces and they flocked around him once more. The morning atmosphere was filled again with screams and whispered gossips. The school buzzed with stories about Kim Myungsoo. He didn't really pay attention to any of the said gossips but he heard a different one this morning.
"Have you seen Professor Kim? He's been missing since last week." He heard a girl said just a few feet from him. Myungsoo listened a little bit more and learned that the professor hasn't been attending his classes for the past week. He only takes Sunggyu's classes once a week so he doesn't know. He also remembered the time that he and Sungyeol saw Hoya crying out of the auditorium. They never asked why. They just walked off and went to the cafeteria. Sungyeol never opened the topic. Myungsoo knew that Sungyeol didn't want to get involved with Hoya's problems. He's already worked up with his own problems. So as Sungyeol's perfect friend, Myungsoo comforted him.
Myungsoo tried to put the puzzle pieces together. Sunggyu out for the week. Hoya crying his eyes out. No communication between the two. What's happening? Myungsoo remembered Sungyeol telling him that the two are super close. They're like the best of friends.
A long way to go, dude, Myungsoo thought. He shook his head and smiled at the ladies once again. Just then, other girls were looking at the other side of the hallway. Myungsoo saw Sungyeol strutting like an arrogant model, his chin up, his hands in his pockets. Myungsoo just smirked and scoffed at how confident this choding is. Sungyeol may have a lot of followers but he can lose all of them after they discover that their king is actually a childish dude. Myungsoo waited for Sungyeol to approach him.
"Myungsoo." Sungyeol simply said and dragged him off towards their first class. Myungsoo didn't complain and just followed. The others followed them like lost puppies. It might seem exaggerated but the students made way for them as they passed by. After all, Myungsoo and Sungyeol ruled the popular clique. And Myungsoo figured that he's going to stay in it for a long time. Until maybe the worst scenario happens.
They find out that he's backstabbing them all.
Myungsoo walked. He smiled. He acknowledged the ladies. He followed Sungyeol. But his eyes and ears were attentive. They were looking for one particular person. Hoya.
Finally, he saw him walking towards the left most corridor. He excused himself from Sungyeol and jogged towards Hoya. Up close, Myungsoo saw Hoya's red-rimmed eyes. Hoya heard him approaching him. As well as his brother's protests.
"Yah! You didn't tell me you're going to my brother!" Sungyeol yelled. Myungsoo rolled his eyes.
Hoya did the same. Myungsoo smiled at him and pulled him away. Sungyeol shouted louder. Myungsoo ran off, his right hand tight around Hoya's wrist. "Where the fuck are we going?!" Hoya screamed.
"You don't have to know, hyung." Myungsoo replied calmly as he ran past the classrooms. Students and teachers stared at them run away.
"I am not your hyung, Myungsoo. I'M YOUR PROFESSOR!" Hoya yelled.
Myungsoo stopped running and let go of Hoya's wrist. Screw this. I'm not earning his trust anymore. He stared at him coldly and crossed his arms. "If you want your problems to end, you better listen to me hyung."
Hoya's eyes widened to the full extent and he tried to avoid Myungsoo's cold gaze. Myungsoo' sees followed his every actions and it made him wary. Hoya didn't want to be watched. So he turned on his heel and walked away.
"On a count of three, you are going to stop walking. If you don't, something bad will happen to Sunggyu-hyung." Myungsoo said, his voice full of confidence.
At the sound of Sunggyu's name, Hoya stopped in his tracks. He didn't want to turn. Because that only meant that he's weak. That he's deeply moved by simple things. Hoya somehow sensed that Myungsoo knows more than he should about Sunggyu and him. He didn't want to risk revealing any more secrets. So he walked on.
"So you've made your choice," Myungsoo started, "don't worry; I'll make it slow and painful for him."
Hoya took a sharp intake of breath and turned. "Wait!" He didn't care anymore.
A cool, evil smile formed on Myungsoo's lips. "You do care for him, don't you?"
Hoya didn't have to answer. Myungsoo's question was rhetorical. Besides, he was sure that Myungsoo can see the answer in his eyes.
"This is just beautiful. Simply perfect," Myungsoo said with a laugh. Hoya eyed him with suspicion. Myungsoo approached him and brought his face close to Hoya's face.
"Who is he to you?" Myungsoo asked. He saw fear in Hoya's eyes. But it was a different kind of fear. Not a fear of being hurt. But a fear of being caught. Being caught on what? Myungsoo thought as he stared at Hoya. Hoya stared back but he was afraid. He couldn't let Myungsoo know his feelings for Sunggyu.
"He's my bestfriend, Myungsoo," Hoya said. "Nothing more."
Myungsoo stepped back and crossed his arms. "You're lying." he said. A laugh escaped his lips as he walked away from Hoya. He turned around the corner to meet up with Sungyeol who followed them unknowingly and was apparently listening to their whole conversation.
Hoya stood there, dumbfounded. He ran his hand through his hair and walked. He didn't know where. He wanted to get out of the campus. He wanted to get out of this hellhole. He walked through the throng of students in the majn hallway, as if letting them all know that he's leaving amd possibly never come back again.
Sungyeol and his gang stood by as they watched their dance teacher walk out of the building. Myungsoo snickered softly beside Sungyeol.
Sungyeol heard Myungsoo. "What did you do to my brother?!" he asked.
"I did nothing," Myungsoo answered. The bell rang and he walked away.
Sungyeol glared at Myungsoo's turned back. "Saved by the bell," he muttered.
AN: I finally updated. Damn. So...this was somehow Myungsoo's chapter. Well, there's more thrill and ROMANCE to come! :)
