Chapter 6

Hunter’s POV*

“Hunter I am not mad at you I am simply disappointed that I went out of my way and put all my fears aside to do something nice for you and you got mad at me for no reason.” Acacia explained.

“I know and I am so so soooooo sorry. I don’t know what happened to me. I guess it was because I told you about the girl that sung to me and I was just being paranoid that you were trying to take her away from me. That sounds ridiculous now that I say it out loud, I just- I don’t even know Cacia, I’m sorry.” I put my head down in shame.

“It’s okay Hunter, I forgive you.” Her voice and eyes held honesty but there was still a hint of disappointment.

“So Lilly wants you to come over today…” I trailed off with hope.

She laughed, her beautiful smile makes me grin. “Of course Hunter, I can’t resist Lilly’s cuteness.” She giggles.

I swear that Acacia is the sweetest thing on Earth. Even I wouldn’t forgive me that easily after what I did.

Acacia’s POV*

“Cacia!” Lilly giggled as she ran into my arms.

I laughed picking her up and spinning her around. “Hey Lil.”

“When you and Hunter get married I am going to be a flower girl and I already know my what dress is going to look like!” She giggled.

“And what does this dress look like?” I asked her. Please don’t say pink sparkly flowers. Please don’t say pink sparkly flowers.

“It’s going to be a pretty blue dress with stars and beads on it!” She beamed at me and I beamed back. “I have already done a drawing of it.”

She wiggled out of my arms and ran into the kitchen where she keeps her paper.

Hunter and I followed her in and I sat down on a stool.

“Hunteeerrr. Make me food pleaseeeeeeeeeee.” I whine while Lilly looks for her drawing.

Hunter sighs. “I swear you and Lilly both eat so much food. What do you want to eat?”

“Hmmm. I want chocolate pancakes.” I told him.

Hunter's POV*

“Cacia, you do know it’s not breakfast, don’t you?”

“You do know I don’t care, don’t you?” Acacia smirked at me playfully.

“Don’t mock me.” I told her.

“Boys these days, no respect for us women.” Cacia muttered while shaking her head at me.

“You really need to stop saying things like that you know, Lilly is starting to learn habits off you.” I told her.

“Like mother like daughter.” Lilly’s little voice said from the other side of the kitchen.

“Lilly Pilly, what do you mean ‘mother’?” I asked her, confusion swarming my brain.

“Well I know that Cacia isn’t really my mom but she is pretty much my new mom now but I’m not going to call her mom coz’ that makes her sound old. But you and Cacia are my new parents since dad is never around anymore.” Lilly smiled at us.

Acacia looked at Lilly with pride. “Come here baby girl.” She smiled and opened her arms for Lilly.

Lilly didn’t hesitate to run into Cacia’s arms.

Acacia is going to make a great mother someday.

“This is my drawing of my dress.” Lilly unfolded the piece of paper to show us her drawing.

To be honest it looked like a heap of blue and black scribbles. But I wasn’t about to tell her that.

“That’s beautiful Lil, how about I draw it up in my design book so I can get the measurements right and I will make you the dress?” Acacia asked Lilly.

A massive smile grew on Lilly’s face and she nodded her head so much that it looked like it was about to fall off.

“Yes! Yes! Yes! Thankyou Cacia!” Lilly squealed excitedly then ran off to god knows where.

“You’re really good with kids Cacia, you will make a great mother someday.” I smiled at her.

“Thanks Hunt.” She smiled genuinely at me.

She called me Hunt.

A/N: Hey Sorry that this is short but I updated twice in one day to make up for how long it took and I know this is short but it may or may not be leading up to something.

So can I talk about how friggin cute it was when Lilly said 'Like mother, like daughter'
