Ch 7: A Journey's beginning

3rd Person POV.

Ash and Lillie had just arrived at Iki Town hoping to meet up with Kahuna Hala as they continued to look around they saw Hau battling an old man who had a skin tone similar to him he wore a blue shirt with a yellow floral patterned coat over it, white shorts with a white belt on his waist holding a red fan, blue and white slippers and a black Z-RING. In front of the man was a purple crab with blue claws. Ash hasn't seen this pokémon yet and was curious to know what it is. He was about to ask Lillie about it when Rotom interupted.

"Crabrawler the Boxing Pokémon a Fighting type. Crabrawler is always aiming to be number one. It guards it's weak spots with it's claws and throws punches, looking for an opening. Also when it wishes to travel by sea it often sneaks aboard boats as stowaways or use coconut shells as a raft since it can't swim." Rotom explains. By then the battle has just ended. Hau lost and returned his Dartrix he then looked at his grandfather who gave him advice, he then turned around to see his friends.

"Alola Guys. what brings you to Iki Town today?" Hau asked.

ASH'S POV

"Hi Hau we're here to speak to Kahuna Hala. Do you know where he is?" I asked as the old man walked up to us.

"Hello Lillie and who are you?" He asked.

"It's Ash sir, Ash Ravenna." I replied.

"Nice to meet you young man. And to answer your question My name is Hala, Kahuna Hala. Kukui's told me a lot about you. Hala said. I assume you're here for the Island Challenge young man?" He asked. I nodded while he chuckled. "Well Hau looks like your wish has been granted." Hala said. Lillie and I are confused.

"If you don't mind me asking what was his wish? I asked.

"He wants to be your rival when you travel through Alola." Hala said whilst chuckling but then turned serious. "But enough of that let's go to the ruins." Hala said as he walk towards a trail of some sorts, somehow i had the urge to follow so Hau, Lillie and I followed him.

3rd Person POV
5 minutes later.

The group led by Hala arrived at the bridge at the end of the Mahalo Trail it was old and looked unstable. Also there was a flock of Spearow circling a pair of small gaseous pokémon. It had two apendages that resembled hands and a gold crescent like accessory in the middle. It some what resembles a nebula and they're scared of being attacked by the Spearow.

"Pikachu use Thunderbolt on the Spearow." Ash said as his faithful partner launched a powerful stream of electricity at the birds. They eventually flew off but seconds later more appeared and now they targeted Pikachu.

"Pikachu keep them at bay." Ash said as he slowly walk towards the to pokémon at the middle of the bridge. Pikachu nodded and blasted the Spearows away.

"Ash what are you doing?!" Lillie asks in a concerned tone.

"Don't worry Lil I'll be fine." Ash replied as he covered the to pokémon with his body to protect them. Then the unexpected happened. The Spearow changed their targets as they began to attack Ash who was shielding the pokémon.
Then a strong burst of psychic energy came from the pokémon, scaring the Spearow and also destroying the bridge.

"ASH!" All of them shouted as the trio plummeted down. When all hope seems lost a loud cry was heard, seconds later a yellow streak flew in quickly and caught the trio, seconds from hitting the river. The streak then brought them to their side of the cliff, where they stood. Lillie then proceeded to run to him and hugged him tightly telling him to never scare her like that ever again.

"It's okay. It's okay Lil i won't do that again ever." Ash soothed as she just cried into his chest. And after a few minutes she stops.

"Are you okay little ones?" Ash asks the two pokémon. They nodded. Just then the pokémon that saved him opened it's shell revealing a black body with lanky arms with yellow cuffs at the shoulders it had white markings and an orange plumage as well as an orange mohawk with a yellow streak in it. It's arms also had large arm cuffs that resembled a bird's head when closed. It was the Guardian Deity of Mele-Mele Island. Tapu-Koko.

"Tapu-Koko why have you come? Hala asks as kneeled down as a sign of respect." Tapu-Koko looked at him then at Ash when it noticed the two pokémon in his hands.

"Chosen one." Tapu-Koko said via Aura. Ash was shocked at this.

"Tapu-Koko? Thank you for saving my life I'm eternally grateful for your help." Ash replied.

"I've heard of what you've been through. And I'm sorry for what happened to you." Tapu-Koko said referring to the betrayal.

"It's fine i just have to live with it i suppose." Ash said. Tapu-Koko smiled and looked into his Heart.

"I've seen what is in your heart. Even though you have a lot of anger and pain inside. You still care for other people and your desire to help pokémon that are in need of it. There for i bestow with this Z-Power Ring." Tapu-Koko said as he revealed the ring to him.

"I don't what to say?" Ash said as he hesitantly took the Z-Power Ring and wore it. "I promise to use to it to help and protect the people and pokémon of Alola." Ash said. Tapu-Koko smiled, he then looked at Lillie and spoke to her but she didn't understand.

"Tapu-Koko said that he saw great will power within you even though you were traumatized back when you were a kid. But you overcame your fear of touching pokémon. Therefore he is allowing you use your father's Z-Ring." Ash translated. Tapu-Koko nodded confirming what he said.

"Thank you Tapu-Koko." Lillie said, as the guardian pokémon spoke to Ash once more.

"Also can you take care of these two Cosmog for me?" Tapu-Koko asked. Lillie was shocked she then looked at Ash who explained.

"I connected you to this Aura link so you can understand what pokémon are saying. I sense a small amount of aura within you, if you want I'll help you unlock and master it?" Ash said, Lillie thought about it and said yes. Both of them looked at Tapu-Koko.

"Yes Tapu-Koko we'll take care of them." Ash said. Tapu-Koko nodded as a thanks and flew of.

"Um grampa what just happened?" Hau asks, while Hala was in deep thought.

"Well it seems that Ash and Lillie have been trusted by Tapu-Koko to guard the offsprings of the two Legendary Pokémon." Hala said.

"You mean Solgaleo the beast that devours the sun and Lunala the beast that calls the moon? But i thought Legendaries can't breed?" Hau says.

"I don't know Hau even though I'm a Kahuna there are just some things that even I don't know." Hala said.

After that happened they went their respective ways Hala and Hau went back to Iki town so Hau can prepare for his Island Challenge. While Ash and Lillie went home and after eating lunch and selecting their final team they grab their bags and after meeting up with Hau they set off on their journey through Alola.

Lillie: Alolan Vulpix ( Snowy ), Magearna and Cosmog.

Hau: Dartrix, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?
