Chapter 24

Mystery Solved.

As the battle between Ash and Hau was happening a group of three people in disguises are watching. One was a black haired man who looked about 35 or older, the second was a blonde haired boy which was tied into a ponytail, and the third was a lilac haired girl who was the same age as the boy.

"He's really grown up alot." said the girl.

"Yeah." The boy replied.

"Remember why we're here?" the man asked.

"Yeah. Yeah." said the girl.

"Again thanks for the intel Jackie." said the man.

"No problem Chief Looker. Since the International Police also provides intel to the Ranger Union, i think its only fair that we do the same." Jackie replied.

"How did you even found him?" The girl asked.

"Well, I was on a short vacation but Aether approached me about Sharpedo hunting and while i was gathering intel i came across a call between the president and her daughter and he was with her. And perks of being a cousin to his now girlfriend Anabel." Jackie said.

Just then the battle ended and the Grand Trial will still be in an hour since Ash's Pokemon need some rest.

"Now is our chance." Anabel said but before they can even approach him.

"You really okay with him being taken already?" Jackie asked.

"I'm fine we talked about it after he got back from Kalos, and as long as he's happy so am i." She replied.

'You can loose the disguises Annie.' A voice in her head said, surprising her.

"What the?!" Anabel said out loud.

"What is it Anabel?" Looker asked.

'Don't worry, It's just my Aura. I sensed yours before the match started.' the voice said.

"Anabel." Ash called out. That snapped her out of her daze to see the raven haired man in front of her.

"Oh um. Hey Ash it's been awhile." Anabel said a bit surprised.

"Why don't you come and join us." Ash offered as the group sat on a long table near a food stall.

"Hey Jackie it's been far too long. And congrats on your promotion to Top Ranger" Lillie said.

"Thanks Lil and sorry that i wasn't able to talk to you that often." Jackie replied.

"You two know each other?" Ash asked.

"Yeah were cousins." Lillie said.

"Anyways why are you here? I mean Looker you are now Chief of the International Police. Anabel you're the Salon Maiden. And Jackie i thought that you would have a mission right now?" Ash said.

"Well thing is. I was supposed to be relaxing after my latest mission. But Chief here gave me a mission to find you." Jackie inquired.

"Yeah, and since Paul joined the Frontier. I've been getting less challengers." Anabel added.

"Really? I take it he is the brain of the new facility? Cruise Captain of the Battle Cruise am i correct?" Ash asked.

"You challenged him?" Anabel asked.

"And defeated him. Earning myself the Bond Symbol. He's really grown since the Sinnoh League. Anyway back on topic. Why are you here?" Ash asked.

"Well....." Anabel said as she began to explain.

Flashback. 2 days ago.

Kanto is known for many things but one of the lesser known reasons for trainers to travel here is the Kanto Battle Frontier. However after a certain trainer beat the 7 brains there are more challengers heading throughout the region challenging them. The Battle Tower is well-known as the 6 battle facility but unknown to the rest of the world its also the main headquarters of the International Police with the Salon Maiden being Second in command.

Battle Tower, Kanto.

Anabel and Looker are looking through the reports on their investigation on Ash's 'death'.

"There's something wrong about this. I believe he is still alive." Looker said.

"I don't see a possibility." Anabel said sadly.

"Well think about it. I went to investigate the site where he died. The grass on where he was attacked looked like they weren't burnt by fire,but rather electricity." Looker said.

"What do you mean?" Anabel said.

"If they did attack him. Most if not all of the grass in that area would've been burnt. It was only in a large circle." Looker explained.

"That doesn't explain the electricity." Anabel inquired.

"No Fire Pledge attack is that large unless it came from a legendary. I believe that he is still alive and that Team Rocket wasn't the culprit. I think that he did some powerful combination attack and then escaped." Looker said.

"The question is. If he's alive then why doesn't tell anyone?" Anabel asked.

"He must have a reason why. But the better question is. If he is alive? Then where is he? We got eyes and ears in every region. Where coud he be?" Looker said.

"Well according to our sources he isn't in one of the 6 regions. Galar is out of the question since its still in development and Oblivia and its neighbouring regions are the main headquarters of the Pokemon Rangers. And there is Alola."Anabel said.

"That's it! Anabel do we have any agents there?"Looker asked.

"Well there is Top Ranger Jack W. Aether." Anabel said.

"Then contact him. Then this mystery will be solved." Looker said as Anabel did what she was told.

Flashback End.

"And that is all." Anabel said.

"My turn. But promise me that tou won't leak this information." Ash said.

"We will." Looker said as Ash explained a shortened version of the betrayal.

"I see." Looker said.

"Please keep this a secret. I don't want them finding out where i am. Who knows they could potentially ruin my new life." Ash said.

"Don't worry this will be top secret." Looker said.

"May Ash Ravenna please step up. As the Grand Trial will begin shortly." the announcer said.

"Well that's all. What are you going to do?" Ash asked.

"Looker and I will be heading back to Kanto." Anabel said.

"And I did promise Gladion that I'll visit him. So see ya around." Jackie said as he walked off.

"Good luck Ash and don't worry about your secret." Looker said.

"Farewell." Ash said as Anabel gave him a hug before the two agents walked off.
