Chapter 13

The Guardians of Kalos

Location: Santalune Forest, Kalos Region.

In between Santalune and Lumiose City was a thick forest filled with wild pokémon although they can defend themselves, they're protected by the Legendary Pokémon that defends Order along with a mysterious but powerful ninja that helped the Kalos heroes during the siege caused by an evil organization known as Team Flare, It is to this backdrop where this chapter unfolds.

3RD PERSON POV.

A large crimson root was scaring the wild pokémon, but suddenly two powerful streams of dragon energy struck it, creating a smokescreen where upon clearing revealed two black and green canine pokémon with hexagonal eyes and a colored hexagon at their collars one red and the other blue, both were growling at the root who tried to hit them but was itself struck with a large light blue spinning projectile, cutting it before a blue humanoid frog like ninja with a pink scarf grabbed the aforementioned projectile which turned out to be a large shuriken made out of water, the ninja then brought it down like a sword slicing the root in half, effectively destroying it.

"Well i believe that's the last of it." One of the canines said whilst glowing turning back into their core forms.

"You sure about that Squishy?" The ninja asked the Zygarde core, who nodded.

"I can confirm that there are no more signs of negative energy Greninja." Said the other core but this one has blue center.

"Finally. I can't wait to get back to Ash, but that will have to wait i did promise Goodra that I'll visit him before going back to Ash." Greninja said, as they looked to the sky to see that it's getting late.

"Why do we go visit him tomorrow after you rest?" Squishy suggested, Greninja nodded and they went to a large hollow tree with grass beds and a large berry pile. It has been their base of operations ever since they began their task of destroy the negative energy roots.

The next day.
Location: Wetlands, Route 14, Kalos Region.

Greninja and the Zygarde twins woke up at the crack of dawn and went to the wetlands, arriving rather quickly thanks to their 10% forms.

"We're here." Greninja said as the Zygarde twins changed into their core forms and went on to his shoulder. Just then a pair of Sevipers slithered up to them.

"Greetings lord of order." (A/N: I don't speak snake.) One of the Sevipers said bowing down at the Zygarde twins.

"Now, now there's no need to be so formal, we're just here to visit our friend Goodra." Squishy said.

"We're sorry it's just that we need to respect our protectors." Seviper2 said.

"We understand but we're all pokémon, so we should all respect each other equally." Z2 advised.

"Understood now follow us." Seviper1 said as they went to the the cabin where Keanan the Wetlands caretaker lives, and along the way they met up with Goodra, Florges, and some of the other wetland pokemon

"Hello Greninja it's been awhile." Goodra said hugging the frog ninja nearly crushing the Zygarde twins.

"Can't breathe." Both managed to said nearly out of breath, Goodra apologised while rubbing the back of his head.

"My my what do we have here?" Keanan said walking out of his cabin. He then noticed Greninja.

"So your Ash's Pokemon?" Keanan asked to which caused Goodra to break down, making the frog ninja confused and worried.

"You don't know what happened?" Keanan asked.

"Well what happened?" Squishy asked, shocking Keanan as he had seen the Zygarde cells on TV before.

"Come inside and I'll show you." Keanan said, as they went inside the cabin where the wetlands caretaker gave the frog ninja a newspaper, being very close to humans, more specifically Ash, Greninja eventually learned to read like one, upon finishing it Greninja broke down causing the twins to worry.

"What is it?" Squishy asked to which Greninja pointed at the article's title.

"Pallet Town hero killed by secret assassination of Kanto Region's Evil Organization Team Rocket. We are here live at Pallet town where one of the heroes of Kalos hails from. Now we learn what happened from the grieving mother Delia Ketchum."

"A-A-A-Ash why?! Why did you have to do this for us?!"

"Mrs. Ketchum can you tell us what happened?"

"Well i invited all of his friends here to celebrate his success at the Kalos League. Next thing I know we heard a blast outside. And what we found were nothing but his hat."

"Thank you for explanation Mrs. Ketchum and I'm sorry for your loss you have my condolences."

"Thank you."

"Miss Yvonne. Can you tell us what happened
beforehand?"

"Well before i arrived i went to Hoenn to check out the contests. I was shocked at what has happened i never would've thought that they would do this to him." Serena explains.

"How long have you known him?"

"I've known him for 11 years when i attended Professor Oak's Summer Camp. He helped me when i was injured and when he went to Kalos he inspired me to follow my dreams of becoming Kalos Queen. He even gave me the phrase 'Never give up till it's over'."

"I see. Thank you Miss Yvonne."

Greninja continued to cry even when Goodra tried to comfort him.

"Greninja stop crying, Ash isn't dead!" Squishy said shocking them all apart from his twin.

"What do you mean by that?" Keanan asked to which Z2 replied.

"He means that if Ash was dead then Greninja won't be able to access his Ash Greninja form due to bond being cut."

"Then that means they lied?" Keanan asked.

"That's a possibility." Squishy said, which caused something in Greninja to snap, causing him to feel a new emmotion. Rage. Although no one can see it, you can feel an intense anger coming of from Greninja who crushed the newspaper.

"Greninja calm down, remember anger won't get you anywhere." Squishy advised, causing Greninja to take a deep breath and looked at the Zygarde twins.

"What should we do then?" Greninja asked.

"Well we could always visit our good old friend Serena right." Z2 suggested.

"But remember don't do anything drastic." Squishy said via telepathy, so Keanan wouldn't hear.

"Goodra want to come with us?" Greninja asked.

"I'd like to, but i have duties as peacekeeper of the wetlands." Goodra sadly replied.

"Don't worry about the wetlands, I'll take over for you, just ensure that your trainer is safe and take the young one with you." Florges said as a Floette with a unique Flower went up to Goodra, while Keanan Handed Goodra's Pokeball to Greninja.

"Good luck and say hello to Ash." Keanan said as the group left for Lumiose City, where Squishy said Serena is at via one of the Zygarde cells.

"Don't do anything stupid." Keanan muttered under his breath, as he and the pokemon went back to their lives as usual.

(A/N: So that's it what do you think is gonna happen next? What kind of Floette came with them and incase you were wondering i took inspiration from PokeSpectre's story on the Fanfiction Network 'Alola to our Saviour. Anyways i hope you enjoyed this chapter.)
