Lilith had now been wandering the streets for 3 days.
It had been a very, very confusing 3 days without her phone, money or- well, the 1940s seemed to have next to nothing that could be of much help to her.
She'd stepped through the wave, and found herself not in Aslan's country- but outside the London Underground. The London Underground, 1945, to be exact. Her Narnian attire seemed to have been replaced with a floral, knee length dress- far from her usual style, yet this was the least of her worries.Going the only place she could think of, she'd made her way to the University of Cambridge.
Her eyes scanning signpost after signpost until she'd found the Medicinal building of where she'd then found a bench, sitting down and summoning all the patience she could, she waited.Lilith had been sat for half an hour, her eyes glued to the exit of the building. She'd seen what must have been hundreds of students file in and out before-
Her eyes widened, a smile found its way to her lips as she saw him leave the building.
Now what?
The Unwavering took a breath before starting towards him. She noticed he seemed completely lost in his thoughts, and so, taking advantage of this, she fell into step beside him, "So, how did Mr Magnificent find his classes today?"
Peter jumped about a foot high, nearly dropping all his notebooks (and he had many) down. "What on- Lilith! I- You- What, what are you- what are you doing here? How are you here?"Lilith laughed and wanted to kiss him- oh, she wanted to kiss him so badly. but realised that things were 'different' in the 1940s. "Well, see, after I went through the wall of water...."
"That's about it, really. I'm glad I found you, though, or I'd have probably starved or ended up in a gutter." She finished her explanation as they reached the train station.
"So, what will you do now?" He asked, shifting his books in his arms.
"I have absolutely no idea."
"None at all?"
She laughed slightly, nervously, "Well, obviously it's not ideal- and I'd hate to intrude but... I don't have anywhere else to go, my parents aren't even born for another 30 years! So I was hoping that maybe- perhaps I could stay with you lot? I mean- if not it's okay, I'll work something out... It'll just be until I find money or work something else out." She finished her ramble quickly as they reached the ticket gates, looking to him nervously for an answer.
"I suppose I could hide you in the attic. Okay, maybe not... or maybe you could go live with Sanya! 6 grown up people in our house after all... and she does live basically next door to us so..."
Lilith brightened. "That's not a bad idea! I'm sure Edmund or someone can come up with a legitimate excuse...where're we going now?"
"Oh, to the Scrubbs'." Peter said airily, leading her along the path. "I'm to pick up Edmund and Lucy, their luggage has already been sent on, and then take the train to Finchley. And don't worry, the train is perfectly safe, all of us checked at least thrice." Peter added in a comforting tone.
She gave him a grateful look as he bought her a ticket and lead her to the train, which still she couldn't help eyeing warily. Trains really didn't seem half as safe here than they did in her time.
It didn't take long at all for them to find seats, but Lilith couldn't help feeling weird.
Here she was, sitting on a train with Peter Pevensie. Not pre-battle or post-raid. But sat in a train, on their way to pick up his siblings and going to their home.
"Told you I'd find you first. Take this as compensation for me doing so terribly the last time." She told him with a small laugh, suddenly feeling much more shy around him than she perhaps ever had."I wouldn't say a terrible job. I mean, you tried." He teased, her eyes widening slightly before she burst into laughter.
"You arse!"
