"Come on, Ed." Lucy laid a soft, warm hand on his shoulder. "It's dark already."
Without knowing that he was obeying the pressure of his little sister's hand, Edmund got up, all life drained out from him, and walked and walked, flanked by Susan and Peter till their house.
"Oh, that's adorable." Susan said in a hushed voice as she took in the beautiful sight in front of her.
Peter and Lucy turned to look.
Sanya and Lilith were cocooned together on the couch, Lilith's head on top of Sanya's (who had tear tracks etched on her face), their arms wrapped around each other, being the only thing steady enough in the world for them in that moment.
Edmund didn't give a solitary flying fuck about the duo and the 'adorable' pose they were in, and stormed up the stairs, taking extra care to make as much noise as possible.
Lilith opened her eyes to a loud thudding as she looked up to the ceiling, it taking her a moment to realise it was someone heading upstairs.
Her next realisation in her half awake state, was Sanya in her arms, her breathing finally steady. She shifted slightly, reaching to brush a loose strand of hair from the younger girl's forehead before realising they weren't the only ones in the room. She looked to the three Pevensie siblings at the doorway, feeling slightly uncomfortable that they'd- watched them sleep?
But hey ho. It WAS their sofa.
She gave them a questioning look but glanced back down at Sanya, giving them another look, which said 'help'.Not that she wasn't comfy, nor did she want to wake her sleeping friend, but she knew the girl's mother would go simply berserk if she didn't return home.
"What, do you want us to carry her?" Peter snorted, still a bit sore about how Sanya had stamped on his brother's heart before tearing it to pieces.
"Never live with him, Lilith." Susan sighed and went to Sanya, gently running her hands through her waves of dark hair till her eyes opened blearily.
"Wh-" She started to ask before taking in Lilith's form beside her and promptly fell off the sofa.
She quickly got up, declining any helping hand.
"Thanks for being the pillow." She told Lilith quietly, feeling an insurmountable amount of love for her, albeit on the inside. "What time is it?"Lucy craned her neck up to look at the close. "10 past 7."
"We should go ho- back then, Lilith." She said quietly and her friend nodded.
The future girl went and gave Peter a slightly long and very passionate kiss before heading out with Sanya.
"Wait-" the two girls stopped at Peter's call. "Sanya, d-d'you want me to tell Ed anything?"
Sanya's eyes were chips of ice, despite the warm chestnut colour. "No. Nothing at all."
Lilith gave the three Pevensies a slightly reproachful look but left behind Sanya, closing their door behind her.
Aslan help them all- no. Fuck him. Fuck the oversized lion.
They had to help themselves."We'll go into Oxford tomorrow. Go shopping. You'll need more dresses for future dates." Lilith spoke as they made their way down the garden path. "Hell, we'll even do a Susan and drop into Tinker's- see if there's any of that Patriotic war paint crap." She added with a small smirk, bumping the Sanya's shoulder lightly.
Sanya gave a wobbly smile, though if it was because of the after effects of sleep or the argument, she wasn't sure.
"Thanks, Lilith." She said quietly as she opened her door. "I'm glad to see someone doesn't hate me for getting on with my life."
