Edmund suddenly felt like a child being told off.
"But- I- that's not fair! Things were getting okay again! It was only one mistake! Come on, Moonshine. One last chance! No more slip ups, I promise.""You sound like my brother when he asks for toys, Ed." Sanya snorted with derision. "And things were not becoming okay again! Things were becoming more- more-" she gasped suddenly and ran to the sink, and vomited out whatever was in her stomach.
"Are you alright?" Ed was on his feet at once, not even caring about the vomit stench.
"Hmm." She replied, rinsing out the sink. If she was pregnant... this would be a regular occurrence... again.
"I'm going home." she said, turning to leave but Ed held her back.
"You're wearing ONLY my shirt and a blind person could understand that you, you had incredibly passionate sex-" Sanya made a gagging sound at Ed's words "last night."
The Pevensies and Lilith stepped back just in time as the kitchen the door opened.
Sanya's expression was truly quite indescribable as she glared at them. She grabbed her long coat off the hook, pulling it round her before storming out the front door, leaving an almost horrified Edmund stood alone in the kitchen.
"Her dress!" Susan held up the almost ripped red dress. "I got to give it to her!"
"I can g-" Lilith started but Susan had already rushed out.
"Sanya!" Susan called loudly just as Sanya was about to cross over to her pathway. "Your dress!"
"Wha-oh." Sanya gave an embarrassed look at herself and went back to Susan.
She took it from Susan, grateful, and then slipped it on while the older girl held her coat, shielding her from prying eyes.
"Your brother's an absolute bastard." Sanya told her venomously, though her heart wasn't quite in the words.
"He loves you, Sanya." Susan said gently- she'd give almost anything to have the one SHE loved here. "He just wanted affection from you."
"He doesn't realise what the pregnancy did to me." Sanya shook her head. "Not just the m-mi-miscarriage but- oh, can you imagine how my, or any, parents would react if, two months later, I told them I was with child?"
Susan flinched. "They would be very.... bad, at handling the matter."
Sanya nodded, swallowing. "Never mind. I have some weeks to stress about it and half kill myself of anxiety. But, oh, Su?"
"Yes?" Susan turned her expectant blue gaze at her.
"Did anything else happen last night? After or during spin the bottle?" She asked in a worried voice and Susan was struck by how YOUNG she was.
"N-no. Lilith and Peter kissed you and you kissed me, very well, and much to Ed's rage, we flirted a little." Susan's cheeks were tinted pink. "But it doesn't ha- didn't mean anything."
"Wouldn't have minded if it did." Sanya shrugged nonchalantly and headed back, her back sagging as if she, like an Atlas, carried the weight of the world.
It was a week later Lilith arrived back from work, dropping in at the Pevensies to find Susan at the stove.
"Who's th- Oh, Lilith! Could you pass that bread? They'll be here any minute... oh, and the chicken still needs checking!" She spoke rather quickly, clearly flustered.Lilith did as she was told, passing the Gentle Queen the bread.
"Ooh- soup! You're doing three courses?" She spoke rather surprised, placing the baked goods she'd managed to collect on the counter. "I was only allowed an apple pie and some muffins." She added, rather disappointed all the cream cakes had gone.
