Paige glares at me with ragging eyes. "I'm getting out," she sneers with pure disgust in her voice.

"Then go, no ones keeping you here," I reply mirroring the disgust in her voice. The driver stays silent minding her business as she should, but I'm sure she's listening to us banter.

"Fuck you, you asshole,"

I roll my eyes at her use of curse words. Like what's her deal. She doesn't know me, so why is she being so fucking rude. She gathers her things and opens the car door.

Before she gets away I make my last remark, so she doesn't get the last word. "Why are you acting like such a bitch,"

Her eyes turn wild as she picks up my sentence. Maybe I went too far by calling her a bitch, but right now she's acting like one.

Paige is still staring daggers at me as she's getting back in the car. "Start the car," she tells the driver snarkily. The driver starts the engine as soon as the command leaves Paige's mouth.

"So you think I'm a bitch Mason. Is that what you think I am?" she chuckles creepily. "Well if I'm a bitch, then you're an idiot. Not only are you an idiot but you're also a fucking manipulating dickass, that treats others like shit. So go to hell."

The driver shifts in her seat uncomfortably as I do the same.

"Why are you so mad at me?

"I said go to hell Mason."

"Tell me why you're so mad at me,"

She looks at her nails ignoring me as I grow impatient.

"Just drop the bitchy act and tell me why you're so furious whenever I'm around. You don't even know me."

She stays silent, as she keeps on looking away from me.

"Are you threatened by me?" - " Oh, this is it. You have a crush on me or something?"

A long and irritated sigh escapes her lips as she grows more and more irritated. After some minutes of provoking her, she finally gives in.

"I'M SCARED, OKAY!" she screams making both the driver and I jump in fright. She's scared but scared of what exactly. Scared I'm going to hurt McKenna again? "I'm scared McKennas going to forget me when she forgives you. I don't want to be the third wheel. I've always been scared that you would come back and I'll be forgotten. I was your replacement, but I wasn't as good as you. I was the second choice. I don't want to be the second choice... I don't know what your intentions are with McKenna or what the big secret is your hiding, but please don't hurt her. She's been through so much, so please don't be the one to burst her happiness. I know you care about her, everyone does. I know I was rude to you today and I seem like I have all my shit together, but I do have feelings too."

That was the last thing I would expect her to say. She's scared I'm going to take away her friendship with McKenna.

"Well, you have nothing to worry about. McKenna doesn't even want to talk to me, or even be in the same room as me." It pains me to admit it, but it's the truth- she hates me.

Paiges shoulders slums as she leans back against the car seat. She looks lost, and like she's determining something.

"She cares about you," her uprightness surprises me. Why would she tell me this? Why would she help me?

She's presenting me with another view of herself. It's weird how much she actually trusts me, to share her deepest thoughts. I admire that about her. I'll admit that we're still not on the best terms, but I don't hate her as I thought I did.

"So much time has passed. We've both changed as people. She cares about the other Mason, the young ruthless one. She doesn't care about me.

"That's an interesting but genuine observation. Maybe your right, but you could also be wrong. I've been told by many different people, that you two were inseparable, maybe that's still the case." - "I know it seems weird that I'm giving you advice and pep talks when I'm scared I'm going to be replaced by you. But I love McKenna so much that I would be willing to sacrifice my happiness for hers. I trust you to do the right thing."

With that sentence, she hands the driver a twenty-dollar bill and steps out of the suddenly parked car.

"Cherish the girl. Her friend knows what she's talking about." the driver tells me with a warm smile. I give her five stars on the Uber app and tip her twenty dollars.

This night has been a wake-up call. A weird and bizarre night I'll admit. Me and Paige's hatred towards each other has gone a notch down. She's wiser than I thought she was. This night has also made me a hella lot more confused than I was before.
