Cyrus POV
I was standing in front of the door to Andis House. This is the first time I directly try to contact her. She tried to reach out to me via Whatsapp when the incident happened but I was too defeated to say anything. Of course, I don't believe that she's the culprit. But now that Amber told us that she had the possibility to do so, I have to at least ask her about her point of view. My hands are sweating but there's no way around it, so I ring the bell. I don't know what I expect to be honest. I left Andi pretty much on her own when she needed me the most. The guilt is overwhelming me so I try to cope with it while I see some figure through the silky glass on the door getting closer.
"She gotta be ok, she has to be ok..."
Bex opened the door, I could tell by her face that she didn't expect to see me. The tension immediately rose.
"Oh Cyrus, I didn't expect you to come. You're looking for Andi right?"
"Yeah. I already went over to the shack but she wasn't there."
"Well... since the day she got expelled, she refused to go in there. I'm kinda glad you're here tho, she has been devastated ever since..."
I see it's the exact opposite of what I hoped for. I can't imagine how hopeless she must feel. Bex and me were still standing at the door, kinda awkwardly looking at the ground.
"Can I come in? Me and the others are investigating the whole thing, so I need to know her point of view. Also, it's pretty cold out here."
Surprised Bex took a quick step aside to let me in. While I got out of the Jacket, Bex told me that Andi would be up in her room, so that's where I went. The door was already open, so I could get a look inside. And I didn't like what I see. Her room was a complete mess. Wrapping papers of sweets and chocolate everywhere, her clothes were just lying around and she really should let some air from outside in. But I believe the worst thing was Andi herself. Her hair looked like it was the habitat of a bird family. Her skin was pale and her eyebags were huge. Probably because her eyes were glued to the laptop on her legs while she was on her bed. I barely managed to get a word out.
"Can I come in?"
"You're already here so you might as well come in. Eventhough I'm not sure you wanna come in to that room."
Her voice was cold and not like the Andi I used to know. I walked in and sat at the foot of her bed. Her eyes haven't left the screen of the laptop. I feel uncomfortable. Was it my fault that she's now looking like that?
"Look, Andi, I'm truly sorry for not contacting you sooner. I really wanted to but I didn't know what to tell you. I'm probably a horrible friend for that, but I want you to know that neither me or TJ actually believe that you did this. We all don't think you did it."
She closed the laptop and finally started to look at me.
"Well that's nice to hear but that won't change much for me. My future is ruined Cyrus they won't let me enter SAVA and probably the whole school thinks now that I'm some kind of a jerk. I have lost everything."
This is awful. But I'm not giving up yet.
"That's why me and the others are doing some investigation. We're not gonna let the person get away with what they've done."
For a moment her eyes light up. Like a fragment of hope has entered her mind.
"But to find the person you need to tell me everything that happened during the preparation of your project."
Her gaze shifted, she was now looking to the ground.
"And you really believe that we can do it?"
