[Y/N's P.O.V]

Sandy wind blew in my face, my lids peeling back to see the honey coloured eyes of Newt, urgency laced within them. A man dressed in all black roughly grabbed my arm, his gloves creating friction against my dirty skin. I was pushed towards a large building, the strong metal painted grey. Thomas was behind me, anger flashed across his features as he twisted against the guards grip. From the beastly gun at the mans side, I knew better than to struggle. Thrown inside, Minho dashed over to me, confusion clear in his face. I shook my head at him, a silent plea for him to not pick a fight. The opening to the outside world sealed shut, everyone now assembled closely in a group.

Footsteps echoed on the floor, a man coming into view. A sinister smile on his lips, his hair thin and grey. Pointed shoes stopped infront of me, his hands stretched into a greeting.

"Welcome", he spoke in a scratchy tone, "come along".

Hesitantly, I followed after him, being the only one. Soon, the others joined, listening to him intently. Sparks bounced from various places, yellow warning signs dotted about.

"My name is Janson and this is where you will be staying", he informed.

"Like a new home?", my frozen voice found words.

"A home of sorts", he answered, turning sharply and stopping us, "now, let's do something about that smell".

Other workers dressed in pristine white came over, separating Theresa and I from the boys. Thomas was wary at first yet my single look told him I'd be fine. Minho and Newt also seemed to catch onto this, sending small nods my way. Rounding a corner, the Gladers were out of view. Theresa turned to me, her flash of concern shared with me.

Replaced by the workhouse, disinfected hallways appeared, the chemicals making my nose fuzzy. The female worker opened a single door, a closet type of room behind it. Quickly, she handed us a clean change of clothes and a towel, pointing to a sign that said 'showers' at the end of the closest. I slid my broken boots off, passing into the hidden area.

There were lines of cubicles, the same cleaning product thick in the air. Entering one, I turned the tap, the water springing to life. Stripping my tattered shreds off, I threw them to the ground, letting heat roll over my hair. Grime and blood pooled by my feet, mixing like a paint pot, a murky balance of light and dark. Steam rising, I couldn't shake the thought of Chuck. If only I had shot at Gally quicker, then maybe he'd be alive. Holding back tears, I finished up quickly, wasting no time to reunite with the boys.

Now fresh and clean, my hair hung in wet ringlets, the long-sleeved white shirt making my E/C eyes stand out. The fabric of my blue trousers soft and the black shoes squeaking against the waxed floor. The worker mumbled a conversation with a heavily armed guard, shooting small looks to Theresa as we walked.

Coming up to a large window, many picnic tables were aligned, filled with laughing teenagers. Heart hammering against my ribs, I rapidly searched for the Gladers. Catching sight of Thomas his face grew alarmed when he saw us, sprinting over to the door. The guard grabbed my arm, parting me from Theresa who was being led away by the worker. I was taken into the hall, security (that was currently keeping Thomas away) parting ways to allow me entrance.

He was right there waiting, pulling from the guard that restrained him, holding onto my biceps gently. He softly hugged me, my hands connecting at the back of his neck in a tender embrace. Closing my eyes, I embellished in the warmth that radiated from him, my lips curving upwards slightly. A smile, I haven't done that in a while. Breaking apart, Newt and Minho stood behind him, happy to see me.

"Do you know where they're taking Theresa?", Newt asked, looking to see if she was still there.

"I don't know", I replied, the four of us beginning to walk towards their table, "I wasn't told anything".

Taking a seat, my mind wondered for why they took Theresa and not me, or both of us. It doesn't make any sense.

"Look, guys, I don't trust this place", I spoke up, ignoring the food in front of me, "somethings not right".

"I agree", Thomas agreed, "they say we've been rescued but I don't believe them".

"Y/N, Tommy, give this place a chance", Newt folded his arms, "you're just being paranoid".

"Paranoid or not, I still don't trust anything or anyone in this facility", I finallised, the boys taking the hint that I wasn't going to change my mind.

Laying stiffly on my bed, I stared at the grey ceiling, the silence buzzing in my ears. Loneliness crawled up my veins. For years I stayed with a group of boys and now It's just me and four blank walls. Metal grinding on metal echoed from under the mattress, curiosity spiking my mind. The sound drew to an end, only to spike up with a loud bang and the cover of an air vent skidding across the floor.

The room had enough light to see shadows, my vision focused on the one dancing on the floor. A single arm stuck out, a body following after. My defences acted sharply as I jumped up, taking the unknown person from behind in a choke hold.

"Y/N", a voice gasped, "Y/N, its me".

Relieved and confused, I stepped back, "Thomas? What are you doing here?".

Another figure appeared, a smidgen of light showing bright blue eyes that belonged to a boy. Someone I had not seen before.

"It's a long story", Thomas continued, gently taking my hand, "this is Aris and we have to show you something".
