I woke up that morning and realized I had actually gotten a full nights sleep. We had to get ready for school, but waking up with Zayn's arm as my pillow and having his body so close to mine was clearly something that put my mind at ease.
"Good morning." Zayn said as I stood from the bed and swiped my alarm off.
"Let's hope." I smiled, and I meant it. Everyone seemed to know our personal lives at this point, so I was sure everyone would judge as we walked onto campus together. It was practically impossible for people to ignore Zayn. He just had that face everyone enjoyed in my opinion. Not to mention it was such a small school that any bit of gossip got tossed around like a hot potato.
"What do you want for breakfast?" He sat up.
"I dunno. I need to go put on some makeup and then change. Do you have anything quick?"
"I can fry up some eggs and sausage and just make some burritos."
"Yeah, that sounds fine."
"Your clothes are over there." He pointed to an overpiling basket by the window and I laughed. He clearly stayed up longer than me and washed all of my clothes.
"I'll be out in like 20." He stood up and kissed me on the cheek, giving me my space to get ready for the day.
I walked over to the window and began to search the pile of clothing for a comfy outfit. Everything was weighing heavy on my mind, but I wasn't going to let it effect me. Zayn said he'd told me all of the things I was left out on, and I wanted to trust him. Without trust, we weren't going to make it anywhere. I refused to be one of those couples that just went in circles. I liked routine, but I was never a fan of repetitive mistakes.
Stepping into the bathroom, I pulled my makeup bag from the middle drawer, and stared at myself in the mirror. I actually looked rested. The bags underneath my eyes were significantly smaller (still there, but not as awful), and my skin wasn't so dull. I took a look at my hair, and it too was more lively than it had been lately. Definitely wasn't as frizzy as I'd presumed. It almost made me change my mind about cutting it. Being as though I looked better than the previous days, I decided that foundation wasn't really necessary. I had no one to impress at school. Instead I just applied some concealer to the bridge of my nose and under my eyes. I put one layer of mascara on and then powdered the parts of my face that tend to get oily. It was a pain, but obviously it was a common thing or else the powder wouldn't exist. Once I was finished putting on my light makeup for the day, I threw on my bra and changed my underwear before stepping into some plain black skinny jeans and putting on a thin, long-sleeved shirt.
"You're already ready?" Zayn looked startled when I walked into the kitchen, and I nodded. "Did you even put on makeup?"
"Yes?" I half laughed. Wasn't sure if I should be offended by him saying I looked like I wasn't finished getting ready.
"You really don't need makeup, babe. Honestly. Especially when I can't even tell that you have it on."
"Do I look bad?"
"No? Hell no! You look as great as you always do. That's what I'm saying. You really dont need the makeup."
"Oh well. It's already on. Is breakfast ready?"
"Almost... You said twenty minutes and its only been ten so I just barely poured the eggs into the skillet." I looked at the full pan of eggs and sausage and my stomach growled before I could even tell him how delicious it all smelled.
I took a seat behind the island in the kitchen, waiting for my lovely burrito as I watched Zayn pour in some salsa and cheese, before heating up the tortillas. "Do you think today's going to be as shitty as I do?"
