Every she-wolf grows up with the same dream. Struggle through school until you become old enough to go to the mating ball. Find your Prince Charming- hopefully wealthier- who will love you for the rest of your life. Have pups that will also grow up to have the same dream.
All of them had managed to dream up the perfect guy. Though they were well aware of the fact that the moon Goddess would surprise them with whatever the hell she wanted, they never stopped dreaming.
First, he had to be taller, then ripped, cute or sexy. But most of all he had to be dominant. To prove that he could protect against whatever. And for that he had to be strong, stronger than most if not all. One could try to guess whom this description befits if not already to obvious. The alphas.
Alphas have always been a big deal especially in parks where rank matters. To come from a lower class and carry the child of an alpha, more so to be loved by one was the ultimate ending. It had grown to be the dream for most she-wolves.
The alphas were not unaware of this fact. Some had grown to ignore it and just move in with life while others took advantage of it, boosting in all their ways. And when one talks about boosting, there are two kinds.
One, making everyone around them well aware of the fact that they know that they are wanted and showing off to other males. Or two, acting or saying that they are heavily disgusted by the fact that weaker wolves are all over them and therefore want nothing to do with them. This is the exact spot Octavius Javier could be rationed to.
He was the future alpha of pack Noo'iman. He had it all, like most alphas, he was found to be perfect by most she-wolves. He had had so many of them throw themselves at him just begging to held, so much so that he was flabbergasted.
He had come to a conclusion that she-wolves were just a waste of time. Wolves filled to the brim with burning hormones that seemed to take control of their entire bodies. In his mind, they were savages, hungry for money, power, sex.
He found himself coming to the state of mind that encouraged him to say that he was much better off without a mate. He was yet to discover their purpose in life but from the example of all those mated, he could do without one.
A mate only meant extra expenses and loss of self control. Though still, he was the future alpha and wouldn't get to be one unless he had a mate. Somewhere somehow, he had made room for the idea of getting comfortable with a stranger. But if it was going to happen, it would be on his terms.
He enjoyed most of the time he spent on his own so whoever she was, she'd have to keep her distance. He had everything figured out so her life was with him would be a breeze. It didn't matter if she showed up or not, either way he'd be okay. As far as he was concerned, he was doing her a favor.
Other than his low opinions concerning the entire mating phenomenon, Javier was your ordinary alpha. Responsible ~which meant he made his pack and father proud~, handsome, kind, strict, a child with the touch of dominance.
Like every other person he had friends, not by the millions but just a few that he felt he could trust. They ranged between Alphas, betas and Gammas ( mostly males).
He loved to run in the forest, playing around like a normal wolf. He smiled and laughed often but was serious when need be.
And that moment was no different, he had just finished a laps around the pack with a couple of his friends. He was a muddy, sweaty mess in half ripped clothes stealthy walking into their house, trying not to get caught by his mother.
"Junior! You're messy again," his mother spoke from the kitchen.
" Oh! Right! Yes," he stopped his tip toeing. He was about to walk directly up the stairs when his mother stopped him.
"your father asked me to give you this," he handed him a cream envelop. He pulled out a card stamped with a seal from another pack," it's an invitation for a mating ball."
" Father seems to be quite in the mood for celebration," he pointed out following his recent continuous attendance of mating balls," the old man just won't pass up a chance," he said, reading the invitation.
"Oh!Dont say that, your father and I just want to see our little boy happy," she smiled at him, trying her best not to cup his cheeks.
"i am just really excited," his sister grabbed the letter from his hands," my first mating ball." She slipped off the stairs and swirled the letter around I'm her arms," I hope I don't find him." She had been in the kitchen with their mother.
"It's not that big of a deal Quinn,"he said to her.
"Says the guy who had been to a thousand balls and not gotten a mate," she sand the response.
" I'm I chaperoning?" He turned to his mother who had been lost smiling at her only daughter.
" No," she answered absentmindedly," your father is going with the three of you."
He looked at his sister who was still flying around the passage into the kitchen before turning to his mother," I'll start packing."
