The open arena was less quarter filled with wolves seated to spectate. Most of them carried beverages and food stuffs. They sat in different small groups spread around the arena.

Breyer looked around and smiled. But of course, what could she do but throw a nasty comment," Good," she said to Javier without necessarily looking at him," a small crowd to watch your arse being whooped! Better for you though it will be Quite a show." She smirked and looked around to see the alpha and Kordell sitting together. " Oh! And look! Your poor dad! Aw! He'll be so disgraced, he'll have a heart attack," she pouted.

" If that's what's coming out of that piece of shit is garbage, then it's best you close it, because it's been stinking long enough now,"he shot back at her causing Quinn to smile. She was glad her and her brother were on the same page concerning his mate from hell.

"Mhm, search 'garbage' on google, and your entire family shows up," Breyer sneered back. She had been at it ever since she stepped into the arena that morning: trying her level best to insult them in anyway possible. She knew it would make no difference but, it helped her to put up with them.

Javier had had enough of it. He wasn't going to try to respond this time around. He didn't want to play around with her little mind games, always trying to find a way of upsetting him. She had messed with him far enough. He took his attention back to his sister. Quinn was simply going on and on, telling him to beat her real good in case they were having a fight. He shouldn't have any mercy. Beat her arse up into submission.

"Good morning everyone," Edgar smiled his way into the arena.," A rather beautif-"

"Skip to it old man," Breyer shot at him.

Edgar smiled for a bit, clearly reluctant. Then he mumbled about procedure and the way things should happen. He went on to tell those gathered they were going to witness." These two mates have unfortunately rejected each other and apparently want nothing to do with themselves," a few laughs came from the audience," this is a rear sight indeed as they have decided to participate in this year's rejection rituals," he paused," there are varying steps in this ritual. All of which can't be mentioned as per now." He turned to the participants and Quinn," The first test is.... The Chase," he paused for effect," there are six large bells posted in different parts of the surrounding forest. You must hit each of them in numeric order indicated above them. You must hit all of them and arrive here before sun set." Edgar pulled a coin out of his pocket and walked towards them. He smiled at both of them before throwing the coin in the air," Call it," he told.

Breyer immediately called out heads. When the coin landed, it was tails at the top. Edgar turned to Javier," congratulations Mr. Javier, you get to chase your prey down. You must make sure she doesn't hit all the bells or make it here at all. Once you manage to catch her, you must hit the nearest bell six times." He turned to Breyer," You on the other hand get to hit every bell once."

" This should be over quickly," Quinn remarked before smiling proudly and walking to her seat.

Edgar ushered the two to the starting point," there's a simple rules: don't mask your scent. If you can escape once caught, be my guest. The bells must be hit in ascending order. For each round you win, you get a point. The points will be recorded on that board," he pointed towards it. " Three bells be rung at the beginning and at the end. Ready or not, by the third you have to set off and back here. Good luck," he smiled and walked away.

They both turned to the forest. " if you ask me, luck doesn't seem to be on your side," Javier said but got no response," Maybe you should ask to be given a couple of minutes to run ahead." He continued. The bell was rung for the first time. Javier readied his stance.

Breyer paused for a second. She walked to the organizers' table gaining a few questioning looks from people. The bell was rung for the second time. She picked up a piece from it and walked towards the board. In the column for her name, she put one tally, placed the chalk down and walked back. Before she could reach the starting point, the third bell was rung. She paused.

Javier turned to her, a triumphant smile on his features. He had cut off her access to the forest, all because she was a hot head. "just surrender," he advised. She wasn't going to get past him.

" Sure thing," she smiled and charged at him with a reasonable pace.

Javier readied himself to catch her. He waited until she was close enough to try and grab a hold of her. Immediately he reached out, she jumped forward, placing her hands on his shoulders and cartwheeled to his back side. She wanted to throw a comment at him in that moment but decided against it. As soon as she landed, she set off towards the forest. Javier didn't bother to wait, he bolted after her as soon as he realized what had happened.

As soon as they disappeared into the forest, everyone set about their own activities except for the organizers. Quinn took that chance to move towards the board and rub away the tally Breyer had put for herself. She put a tally in the column with her brother's name and replaced the chalk.
