She braced the door handle firmly, a wide smile on her features. No sooner had she opened it, than it was slammed back. She found herself looking at the alpha," take a seat," he commanded.

" Sorry wolf boy," she replied flippantly," you heard him. So, out of my way." She tried to opened but it was slammed back," Dude!"

" This meeting is not yet adjourned, please," he commanded," take a seat."

She threw her head back in frustration," OH! FOR THE LOVE OF SELENE. WHAT MORE DO YOU HAVE TO SAY!"

"okay,that's it," Quinn said after seeing that no one was doing anything about it," Just because you don't want to be here, doesn't mean you should talk so arrogantly. We respect you enough to treat you like a civilized wolf, the decent thing to do would be to show us the same respect." By the time she was done, she was half way to the top of her voice.

Quinn was given an uninterested look," Hey sweetheart," the recipient of the scolding said," if I cared about your opinions, I'd give them to you."

Quinn's anger was visible on her features, a low growl emitted from her and it was getting louder.

Noticing this, she smiled and went ahead to mock Quinn," bite me!"

" With pleasure," Quinn's eyes shone, a bright grey, similar to both of her brothers. With her canines extended, she launched herself towards her target. only for her father to get in the way, trying his best to hold her back. For all he knew, Quinn would reap the She-wolf apart. Javier joined his father as Kordell sat still, watching in awe.

The target though, seemed to be in the mood for a fight for she kept throwing provocative statements at Quinn. She made weird faces at the enraged alpha while she smiled about it, clearly having a great time.

It wasn't long before the alpha managed to separate them, putting other of them in different rooms. Javier went out for a walk and Kordell turned to his games. The alpha was left in the room pacing around for solutions. He couldn't understand what the point in the matter was. If they were mates, they were meant to be. It was supposed to be some external force keeping them apart not her. He rested his head on his two fingers and breathed.

The fact that his son would not have a mate would make him a weak ruler. It was worse now that they had actually found her, it would have been better if he hadn't met her. A knock at the door interrupted his thoughts. " Come in," he encouraged.

In walked another older alpha, a good friend to Alpha Jacob. He had a bright smile on," it's about time I found you Jacob," he turned to the other member in the room," Augury! What a pleasure." Kordell gave a small smile back before turning back to his games.

" It's always a pleasure to see you Edgar," he said.

" You don't seem so pleased,"

"how can I? It's like I'm in the middle of a whale sized problem and I just can't find my way around it,"he sighed," that girl is just a handful and more."

" Actually, I've been looking for you on that matter," Edgar said.

Javier walked back into the room to find his sister boring holes into his mate's skin using her eyes. She nonchalantly looked back at Quinn. He greeted Alpha Edgar before taking a seat.

" Now that you're all here," alpha Jacob announced, calmer than before," I'd like us to continue from where we stopped.Young lady-"

" Not happening!" She didn't bother to look at him.

At that point, Alpha Edgar took over," It would be wise and way less trouble if you didn't put up much of a fight."

" Why are we even bothering?"Javier said out of annoyance,"I have no interest in involving myself with someone such as herself," he turned to his father," I would rather rule the pack on my own."

" I agree with Javier," Quinn countered,"he doesn't have need for her so it's best we throw this trash out."

" Cheap!" She announced," try getting better insults because I'm bored."

" Seeing as both of you have no interest," alpha Edgar said," you've left us with no choice."

All the parties smiles expect for the two alphas and Kordell.

"There is an ancient practice, that should be followed for these kinds of events," Alpha Edgar informed.

Their smiles dropped. Javier and Quinn looked at him questioningly,wondering what could be going on. Normally a rejection was just a formal ," I reject so and so," even with no reason.

"It is the proper procedure by which these matters concerning rejection should be handled," alpha Jacob added.

" It involves tests and trials for both of he mates to see if they can truly exist without each other," Alpha Edgar continued.

" Quit lying," she batted in," I've never heard or seen what you're talking about."

" well you can't have been alive long enough to see it," Edgar said," many haven ignored it but since this is the one true mating place, all procedures must be followed."

"what shall we be doing?" Javier asked.

" A series of tests, as I said," Alpha Edgar answered.

" How," she rubbed her temples," long is it going to take."

" A couple of months,"he paused," you can't get around it."

" Months!" She started to rumble and curse under her breath," can't you shorten it."

" Its proper procedure," Javier added," and I'm willing to follow it as long as the final and permanent decision can be reached."

" Thank you," Alpha Edgar said to Javier before turning to the she- wolf.

Noticing their eyes on her," I'll need prooof first."

"I thought you'd ask," he pulled out two ancient looking scrolls and handed each of them one," read through them," he said standing up along with Alpha Jacob then the rest of the family,"then come to me by evening today to sign your petitions for entry."

The she- wolf immediately stood," I can't stay here, I have to leave," she urgently addressed.

" Then you have no choice but to submit," Edgar said simply before walking out with Alpha Jacob's family. Leaving her standing alone with a frustrated expression.
