Quinn and Javier waited at the front of the West end library. They were supposed to have left a long while back but the unexpected mate discovery held the back.

Quinn leaned back into the grey walls and sighed. She honestly hadn't expected it to happen. What were the odds that Javier would ever find his met especially at a gathering like this zero : ( to) infinity. But here he was.

The weekend was supposed to be a fun day out kind of thing. Yes their father and mother had hoped it would finally happen. But she just hoped it would be a normal thing. For crying out loud it was her first mating ball that had come far later than expected.

But now she was stuck trying too convince a run away mate that wasn't even hers instead of showing off her amazing time to all her friends. Then again his mate. Something about the way she had put her words put Quinn in a pensive mood. If anyone knew what would happen if she lived up to her words, it was Quinn.

If her brother didn't get mated, that would mean that she would have to take over the pack. Finally live up to her title. Yet it was a position he had looked forward to his entire life. Their father had always waited for that moment when he would finally take over. He was so proud of Javier. She could see it in his eyes, they way they lit up with pride when they looked at Javier. It made everything seem worthwhile. He never gave that look to the rest of them. She would get jealous a few times but, she'd always find a way to forget about it. She didn't know whether to dread what would come.

She was still in thought when she heard a continuous tapping against the cobblestones on the path that led to the library. She looked up to see their awaited aarrival. "Well, well, well. Our little missy decided to show up," she said in a low tone but loud enough for everyone to hear. Their arrival didn't respond, she had her attention drawn to her phone.

Javier waited for her to get where he was to say," you're late, it-"

" Shut it," she said sharply and walked past him through the open doors into the library.

They both watched her walk in. Quinn stepped towards Javier's unamused form and nearly whispered," I honestly thought she wasn't going to come."

"Behind there," she suddenly spoke signaling them to look at her," Meeting." She ordered.

Quinn turned back to Javier," amazing Luna,"she said sarcastically and walked towards her. Javier followed shortly after. She put away her phone immediately they got to her.

They walked to the far end of the library. Quinn ushered her into one of the private offices. Inside, was the alpha and Kordell occupied by video games.

"We are glad to see you could make it," the Alpha began as Javier closed the door behind him," Good morning, I'm alpha Jacob and this is my son," he said pointing towards Javier who was taking his seat," future al-"

" I don't care. I didn't come here to discuss your birth rate," she slumped into a couch separated from that of the alpha by a small glass table. " I don't want your son," she continued in the same sharp tone.

" That matter has been made quite clear already," the alpha ignored her tone," and I have been informed that you are rather reluctant to tell us why you made such a decision," he paused," nevertheless, we have our reasons."

She retaliated his words with a bored expression.

" We respect your decision as it is," the alpha continued," but we ask you to put into consideration the life of our entire pack. Such a decision can easily lead to its downfall, loss of pack life, rouges will become the only hope."

"No," was the sharp response.

"Young lady," he emphasized the words," we request that you put into consideration the number of lives at stake."

"I have," she shot back," No."

" Lady-" his tone had more emphasis.

" You come at me with a life changing decision and the best you have is this," she patronized," If you're so worried about your pack, switch the leadership. I'm sure you're not the only alphas in the pack or at least the area."

The alpha went silent. She was beginning to taste his patience especially with the mention of loss of power.

"Our family has ruled out pack for generations," Javier started," we can't throw all that away just because a big headed twat refused to budge."

" Oh! So the entire generation is just a bunch of power hungry jerks," she glared back.

He looked at her, his eyes menacing," everything I do, I do for my pack. I take pride in my pack and I'm ashamed that someone such as yourself has to share this with me. But clearly, I have to sacrifice. If it weren't for the sake of my pack, I'd-"

" Do that now," she urged.

His eyes stayed glued to hers in a low voice he said," you disgust me!" And she had,not shockingly. Javier had watched her disrespect his family and everything he stood for. At that point, all the beauty she had possessed vanished. She had taken her stupid stunts too far. All for what? A little attention. A little drama.

"Good, throw me out!" she encouraged a smiled tagged on her features," or maybe be you'd rather throw your pack out."

"I'd never turn my back against my pack," he stood," Get out. Leave. Don't come back." He had had enough.

Hardly had he finshed when she stood up to leave. She half bolted towards the door.
