The next day was met to be spent socializing. Small programs, consisting of sports especially had been organized so that the wolves could interact more. From football, soccer, baseball to running and wrestling. As well as board games, swimming, hunting. Everyone got involved in these activities whereas some preferred simply shopping or just site seeing.

Javier on the other hand was cooked up in his room. Ignoring anything that could have been going on outside, having dug his head deep into the paper work concerning his park's affairs. He wasn't going to waste time trying to get involved. Now that things were falling into place, the least he could do was concern himself with the issues of the park, like an Alpha should.

Of course Quinn head tried to pull him out for a few seconds but she'd given up the moment he said no. She had her own thing going and wasn't ready to focus on their two reluctant big headed arses.

She few out of her room straight to shopping, site seeing, running, swimming, anywhere, as long as it had people that she didn't know. To her, the final ball at the end of the day didn't come sooner. Though she had made most of her day, she was just dying for the evening ball. She heard that it was set to be exactly like those in the sixteenth centuries. She honestly couldn't wait to put that dress on and dance with strangers.

She thanked Goddess that her mate was nowhere near and that those in charge had thought about putting up a beauty parlor. Though like she had dreaded, the place was fully packed with she-wolves and a few males. Luckily, people had to make appointments.

Hers wasn't until mid afternoon before which she took a shower. She thereafter spent hours having her make up done while talking endlessly to the make up artists. When they were finally done, her hair was twisted into a messy updo with gold fittings. Her make up was mainly natural with a little bit of glitter so she come up looking like an angel.

After paying the bill, she rushed out with her friends back to the back house where she got into her dress and waited for her father to arrive. Or more like had her father wait for her. Of course the others had nothing to show. They were all black suits as expected. The only difference was the tie colors, of which Kordell's was a red with a black shirt.

"Why did you take so long," Javier whined.

" Because unlike you," she glared at him launching her purse at him," someone is going to be looking at me."

"What makes you so sure?" he handed her the purse when she was seated.

" Because it's like prom, believe me, girls are more excited that they get to put on dresses compared to actually going with someone," she answered, misunderstanding the question," so please, shut up!"

Javier let it go. There was no point in arguing with Quinn. He was sure some random she-wolf would be looking at him. But one person in specific would be looking. As the car started, he struggled to keep composure as a small excitement built up in him. But that was all it was, small.

When walked out of the car into the hall, their father leading the way. He kept on reminding them to keep control of themselves while Quinn was already literally jumping.

At the end of the hallway to the entrance was a short queue of wolves lined up in their respective families or on their own. The huge dark brown doors were opened and closed as the wolf walked in as was done for them.

From where they stood was on large flight of stairs leading to the ground floor where many wolves stood chatting away as the music silently played in the background.

" Announcing," a wolf that stood to their right boomed," the Alpha of Noo'iman pack, Mr Jacob Williams, his son;future alpha of Noo'iman pack, Alpha Octavius Javier, his daughter, Alpha female, Quinn Kayla, his son, Alpha Kordell Augury." He turned to them and said in a low voice," bow," then to Quinn, "curtsey, then proceed down the stairs".

By the time they reached the bottom of the staircase, Quinn was feeling truly royal and therefore didn't stop smiling. She then rushed off before anyone could stop her. Kordell was sent after her just to make sure she didn't get herself into trouble. Javier was left to follow his father around so as to get to know the different alpha: allies and enemies. He found himself paying less and less attention to whatever it was they were saying, his mind unconsciously looking out for an all too familiar dark head.

He waited, smiling where need be or laughing at not so funny political jokes as he watched whomever was being announced. But the announcer dismissed himself and she was nowhere to be seen. He waited some more thinking she'd pop up because she was late but she didn't. He proceeded to look around the room for her but he didn't see her anyhow.

A small panic began to rise in him. He ignored it for a number of minutes. With each passing minute, his anxiety rose. His wolf grew even more and more restless. His anxiety rose up so high, he felt life he would choke on it. And after a few more minutes of pointless conversation and deep struggle for composure, he finally gave in. He excused himself fine the group and went about following his nose.
