Sunny POV:
The cake looks magnificent. It's my weekly project, a gorgeous, three-tiered, red velvet, marble-iced masterpiece. I'm busy adding lacy frosting spirals when I hear the scuffle of footsteps and the creak of the door opening. I spin around, wielding the piping bag like a sword. "Hello?"
"Miss Baudelaire, you have visitors." It's the head chef.
"Can you tell them that I'm quite busy at the moment?" I say, gesturing to the cake with my free hand.
"Their exact words were that they were going on a Very Fun Drive. Odd bunch, they were," but before he's finished the sentence I'm already on the floor and the piping bag is lying forlorn on the ground in a puddle of frosting.

"... and so that's how we came to be sitting here today." When I reached the lobby of the culinary university, I was hurriedly escorted outside and into a rickety trolley by Beatrice, my siblings, and the Quagmire triplets.
"Yes, we're alive. It's good to see you, Sunny." said Duncan abruptly. After they explain everything, the sun is half-madt in the late afternoon sky. "So. Now that we're all here, can someome please tell me why we're here?" I ask.
"Well," Klaus says, "Earlier Isadora was telling me about two mysterious figures who arrived out of the blue on her doorstep and promptly left as she was unlocking the door. Then, our doorbell rang, and it was the same two figures that Isadora had seen earlier. So, Izzy went home to pack and call Duncan and Quigley, I called Violet, we all regrouped and came to fetch you." It's a mouthful of information, but one sentence sticks out like a sore thumb.
"Wait. You're telling me that Isadora was at our house alone with you this afternoon? And since when do you call her Izzy?" Isadora blushes and says nothing, and Klaus valiantly tries to change the subject whilst reddening himself.
"Now back to more important matters,"
"I think that that is a pretty important matter." Duncan mumbles. Isadora, bearing a striking resemblance to a pretty brunette tomato, clears her throat. She has one hell pf a poker face, no expression at all. That doesn't stop the blush creeping up her cheeks. I stifle a giggle. Klaus and Isadora, sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G. As if she can hear my thoughts, Isadora begins, "We suspect that the two figures may be the man with a beard but no hair and the woman with hair but no beard." The atmosphere almost instantly becomes more serious. "We can't be sure, but we do know that if it is them then we're in for a bit of trouble. Last time they were seen they had committed a large series of arsons and orphaned an entire troop of Snow Scouts."
"Do you think that they'll do it again?" asks Beatrice worridely. Klaus sighs.
"I don't know, Bea. But I do know one thing: if they are, then we have to stop them before they do."
