Hey guys! Sorry it took so long to post, i've been so busy with school. But I finished it! Enjoy!

My mind was like a blurred gaze that you had to squint your eyes and look through. As if it was misty and coated the picture before you...
"You alright, Annabelle?" Steve asked from my side as we walked through the forest. I could only give a simple nod in response as I felt the small stone around my neck on the necklace my mother gave me become warm.
I hadn't understood why yet, but this morning when I had woken up and found Steve in the kitchen, I asked him to take me to the forest today. He didn't argue but only asked why. I had told him, then 4 hours ago, that I just needed to get away from the city. He seemed to understand, so he took me after we'd eaten and changed.
I hadn't told him that I just wanted to go because of the dream with my mother blowing out the candle.
That's how we ended up deep within' a beautiful forest, surrounded by the greenery, the atmosphere just... calming...
As we continued to walk, Steve stifled a cough and I looked over to him curiously through my loose red hair. He gave a small smile as we came to a clear space among the trees. As Steve looked around I walked over to sit next to a large oak.
"You aren't joining me?" I asked as Steve stood in the same spot, almost uncomfortable looking in a way. But he took a deep breath and closed his eyelids as he exhaled slowly, now seeming calmer.
"I prefer to stand." He replied, only receiving a nod from me as a response. I looked down and took hold of my necklace, rubbing the small blue gem between the pads of my thumb and middle finger. It was smooth and curved, but also warm... why was that?
I could feel its heat radiate into me and I could feel the tingle of electricity playing at the tips of my fingers. I could only wonder what was going on, but against my body's own will, I placed my hand out next to my leg, holding it palm up. Heat began to radiate through my flesh and I bit my lip softly at this.
I could feel Steve's eyes on me, but I didn't look up to meet his gaze as I was to occupied by the sight of green and gold mist swirls floating just slightly off my skin.
I knew I was able to use magic, but it had always been limited because I was part Midgardian, part Asgardian. Somehow, however, Jonathan had been blessed with full powers so I had just hid off in the glorious shadow cast upon me, even as the older sibling, by my younger brother.
"I know of a place with a better view." Steve's voice made my eyes focus up to him as he stood in front of me.
"Really?"
"Yeah, up on the hill you can see the entire country it seems." I was now intrigued by what Steve was now implying, smirking at his exaggeration. I stood to my feet and smiled softly towards him. He took my free hand – the one which wasn't clutched around the stone suspended from my neck – and dragged me through the forest for what seemed like forever but was in reality only a few moments long.
"Steve!" My voice whined unpleasantly once my feet began to grow sore from walking through the steep slopes and over logs in his path.
"C'mon Annabelle. Almost there." He stopped and looked back to me as we stopped on a steep slope. I leaned back against a tree to catch my breath and to not fall back when I caught a smile on Steve's face.
Steve had that same glint in his eye Jonathan and I had when we were allowed to be pulled into the Bifrost and hurdled through space. It was one that showed he was determined. "Can't give up yet Anny." I grinned at this and groaned quietly. Guess I was to continue climbing.
Steve offered his strong hand towards me and once he took hold of it, he tugged me along up the steep and slippery hill. It wasn't until we reached the top that I felt completed, felt that I pushed through pain to gain something.
Before us was a vast green plane with only a few hills in the distance. At the very edge of what looked like the path to forever's end was the horizon, kissed by the setting sun that caused the evening sky to have a golden glow.
"I'll race you!" Steve stated before running off towards a hill with a large tree atop the grassy landmass. I laughed and ran after him quickly. We managed to reach it at the same time and laughed as we fell to the ground against the tree trunk.
"So beautiful." I smiled as I continued to stare out at the land before us, entranced by nature's beauty.
"Yes, you are." Steve said in a soft voice. I focused my gaze on him and found that he had been watching my closely with a jar in hand and a welting rose inside.
"What's that?" I attempted to change topic as I reached for the jar. Once I pulled it into my lap and adjusted myself so that my back was against the tree, I smiled. The stone around my neck became warmer.
"It was just lying here." Steve simply shrugged in his brown leather jacket, shuffling in his Faded Glory jeans.
Annabelle. Your gift.
I heard something whistle softly in a voice through the wind to me while the necklace began to sear around my neck, but the pain subsiding as my fingers began to tingle slightly. I adjusted my jacket and held the jar up to look through it to the welting rose.
"Annabelle..." Steve said in an amazed voice as he watched the sudden spectacle before us occurring within' my palms.
"Shh..." I hushed him as I watched in amazement as small blue orbs floated around the glass jar. I placed one hand on the top and the other at the bottom, just staring with curiosity. I had ended up losing track of time.
"You have a gift." Steve whispered against my ear as he pulled me to sit between his legs. I felt his arms wrap around my waist and I smiled, feeling his chest rise and fall with each breath.
I'm with you Annabelle. I love you.
I shivered slightly and finally was hit with exhaustion. I set the jar down gently next to Steve's leg and yawned ever so softly before lying back against his sturdy chest, protected by his strong embrace. "Rest Annabelle, you've had an experience today." Steve kissed my hair. "You're special." I heard faintly as I began to drift off.
"Protect me please..." I heard my voice as I closed my eyes. "Always." He held me tighter as I drifted off with the sun over the horizon and on into forever.
