I was on my knees at the broken window, watching helplessly as Annabelle was taken away from me just in the blink of an eye. I should have done more to protect her, I should have known that Laufey was to be here, but how long had he been watching her was the problem. I had only left the room minutes before all this had happened...
"Annabelle..." I heard a hurt male voice next to me. I quickly stood to my feet and was met by a mortal just about my height, Captain Rogers. He was the one Annabelle supposedly was in love with...
"You!" I glared and took him by the throat, slamming him up against the wall. "What did you do to her?" I shouted as I held him there. Rogers struggled against me but I just held him tighter.
"I-I don't know..." Rogers coughed and everyone around the room was silent when I had let him go. I looked around and instantly knew none of them would help me.
"You idiotic mortals. My daughter has just been taken and yet none of you have the will to help me find her..." My breathing was ragged and heavy.
"Loki, we'll help you. You just need to calm down." Nick Fury emerged from behind Clint, Banner, Tony, and Emi.
"Calm down? How? She is all I have Nick... please..." I couldn't believe I was going to resort to begging, but I had to. Slowly I felt my anger wash away and the hardened facade fall. "Nick... Annabelle is all I have left of my family. My son is dead and their mother is too. You must do everything you can to help her. To help me... to help Asgard."
Rogers walked over to Nick's side and looked at me with the utmost worry, placing his hand on my shoulder. "I love Annabelle, Loki, and I won't rest until we get her back."
"Can I hold your word on it?" I replied. Steve and Nick looked to one another before looking back to me.
"You can count on everyone here that she'll return safely." Nick finished. A deep wave of relief fled through my veins, but the worry was not yet gone.
Love, she is in well hands. I'm watching over her and will not let anything happen. I'm still here.
I heard Makall's voice and looked around me quickly. I must've gone crazy...
"Uncle Loki?" I heard two familiar voices after the one in my head and found Magnum and Alvis staring at me with their father's eyes by the open door. They were the identical copies of Thor no doubt.
"Magnum, Alvis... what are you..." Thor entered the room and gave a weak smile as he walked over to me and pulled me into a large brotherly embrace.
"Brother." I whispered, clinging to him for support. "I heard of what happened. They'll both be fine."
"How would you know?" I pushed away from him and stopped mid-way, looking to Thor questioningly. "What... do you mean by 'they'?" Rogers and Nick both turned to look at Thor and he gave us a confused look.
I was now very suspicious. "Thor... who else is there besides Annabelle?"
Thor cleared his throat slowly as Magnum and Alvis left the dining room quickly. "Loki... she showed up at the palace today. Did father not tell you before you left?"
My heart stopped. No... she couldn't have.
I knew who Thor spoke of...
I had to get back to Asgard, and quickly. I looked to everyone and for the next few hours I would spend my time in the labs discussing plans and ways to find her, Thor having told me Annabelle was in Jotunheim. But what Odin would tell me by the end of the day when I returned to Asgard would make me believe life was all worth living for again.

The sun was now setting in Asgard and the sky was turning a golden color, Thor was by my side and all was quiet except for the life bustling below the palace balcony. "I'm sorry you did not find out sooner." Thor put his arm over my shoulder as I stared out to the horizon.
"Why would Odin have not informed me of her return before I left? He knows how broken I've been." I said in a hushed tone as my eyes stung from the tears I had only now stopped weeping. Thor sighed and shook his head.
"Because he wanted you to see Annabelle. After Makall had informed us of Laufey's plans, she knew you'd rather see her before going, and it would be too late."
"I thought she was dead!" I shouted, yelling almost in pain as I pulled away from Thor, my voice softening now. "But I should have known something was wrong when her body was gone the next day." I shook my head at the memory of lying to Annabelle and Jonathan just a couple of months ago saying that she was put to rest, when really she was gone.
"Makall had said that Laufey had put the death curse upon her, and simply took it away. But now we know of his plans and are able to stop him."
"That won't bring back my son, Thor." I looked back to him. This world was so crazy now that I couldn't comprehend any of it. How was one to react to knowing your love, the mother of your children, was alive and well when you mourned their death for so long? How? I shook my head and left Thor on the balcony as I went to my bed chambers. I needed rest. That's all I needed right now to collect my thoughts.
Everything added up now, however. Annabelle had informed me that she had heard voices similar to Makall's and this raised my suspicion that something wasn't right because yes, Makall was given the power to speak to someone through thoughts and this was odd since she 'was' dead... now I needed to get her out of Laufey's grip and save Annabelle's life before it was too late.
