Chapter 27

Jennie's PoV

I have started working. Hanbin also started working. I'm staying in our house while Hanbin checked in at a hotel. Right after Lisa left, Eomma kicked Hanbin out. She said that she doesn't need a disrespectful person in the house.

I know I shouldn't have said that to Lisa but when I saw how Nancy came to the rescue. The anger four years ago has come back. I have no idea what Hanbin and Lisa talked about but after that day, Hanbin became distant. His temper was shortened and he is easily provoked.

"Earth to Jennie!" Granddad said

We are eating our breakfast. Granddad always wakes up early so I can eat with him before going to work.

"Are you even listening?" He asked

"Ah— No, Granddad. I'm sorry," I apologized and he smiled at me

"What's been bothering my favorite grandchild?" He asked

"It's just that— Hanbin changed when he met Lisa. I-I don't like his changes," I told him

"Does he hurt you?" Granddad's voice became deeper and I gulped

"Not physically, Granddad, no," I replied

"I can sense a but coming," He said

Granddad knew me too well. I looked at him and sighed.

"But he's been shouting at me whenever I don't hear his stories or prepare his food," I admitted

Granddad looked at me worriedly

"But I'm fine, Granddad! I promise you!" I said

"Why do you have to be with him? You can always go back to Lisa," He replied

"Granddad..." I warned

"I'm just saying, Jen. Lisa loved you genuinely. She loved you more than Hanbin does," He said

"She's with Nancy now, Granddad and Nancy's my cousin. We gotta respect that," I told him

"Weird though. I was just calling Lisa a week ago before she came here and I swear, she was still talking how she's still in love with you," I choked on my own food with what my grandfather has said

"Granddad!" I immediately said after drinking

"What?" He laughed

"I'm with Hanbin now and I love him. I won't just replace him with Lisa," I told him

Am I trying to convince him? Why do I sound like I was trying to convince myself?

Granddad just shrugged. After a while, I left the house and I went to the hospital. I was greeted by my assistant and some of my colleagues. I went straight to my clinic and my day has started.

There are a lot of kids that I did a check-up on before ending my day. I called Hanbin while I was eating my dinner.

"How many times do I have to tell you to not call me after work, Jennie? I need to rest!" He said when the ringing stopped

I frowned. Usually, he likes it whenever I call him all the time. He will be the one to prolong our conversation but after going to our house, it just changed.

"S-sorry, babe. I just wanted to check on you," He let out a sigh with what I said

"I'm fine. Is that good enough for you?" He replied

"Yeah. I'm also fine, a lot of kids need—"

I was about to tell him about my day but he was talking to someone. I didn't really understand what they were talking about but I heard muffled voices.
