Chapter 28

Lisa's PoV

"We're here!" I announced

It's already 10:23 pm but Leo is still wide awake. He happily sat up properly and waited for me to get him out of the seat. Jennie waited for us and she was smiling when we got out.

"Why?" I asked as I carried Leo on my arms

"Being his guardian suits you more than being a troublemaker," She replied as she opened the door

Should I be happy? Is that a compliment? Is she seeing the changes? Dumb me. It's not like she's gonna go back to me if she sees that I've changed. I mean, she's happy with Hanbin already.

"Jennie?" Mrs. Kim said when she saw Jennie

Jennie pointed at us and Mrs. Kim's smile grew even wider. I brought Leo down and Mrs. Kim reached her hands out, asking for a hug. Leo immediately ran to her. Mrs. Kim then showed Leo to the rest of the Kims.

"You didn't tell me they've already met your son," Jennie said

"Yeah. Jinhwan-oppa brought him here. Nancy asked him to bring him here and yeah. The rest is history," I replied

"Jinhwan?" She asked

"Uhm... Leo's biological dad. Due to some unfortunate events, he left Leo under my care," I said and she nodded

I'm happy she didn't ask for anything more than that. I'm not sure I can talk about Jinhwan-oppa without breaking down. He died. He died fighting in that club. He tried to get out but he didn't succeed.

"Babe!" A familiar voice called

I turned around to welcome her with open arms. I just felt Jennie's stares on us.

"You didn't tell me you're coming over," She said as she hugged my waist

When we pulled away, she didn't remove her hands from my waist. She was just giving me puppy eyes, asking me to put my hands on her back. I mentally rolled my eyes and I did what I was expected to do.

"Yeah. Leo hasn't seen Mr. and Mrs. Kim for a while," I replied as I pecked a kiss on her cheek

When I faced her, she was grinning at me. I hate Nancy. I swear. If she just didn't dare me to pretend as her girlfriend for 5 days, I wouldn't do this.

"Leo! Come here!" Nancy called Leo and Leo came to hug her

Nancy carried him but not long after, Leo saw Jennie on my side. He immediately stretched his hands out to Jennie.

"Mommy," Leo called out

Jennie looked at Nancy as if she was asking a permission to take Leo and Nancy just gave him to her. Then Jennie walked to her cousins.

"Why do I feel like I was about to die with her stares earlier?" Nancy asked

"Stop being delusional, Nancy. She's in a relationship with some jerk," I replied

"Some jerk. Huh. You always say that when you find out about her suitors," Nancy said

Nancy and I are friends. We have established that we are nothing more than that. We have outgrown our problems together with Kai. Then an unexpected friendship grew between the three of us.

"Dinner's ready the two of you!" Mr. Kim announced so we proceeded to the dining table

Jennie's cousins, her parents and her Granddad are there. Just like old times but we have an addition, my little Leo.

"Leo, come here. Your grandma also has to eat," I told Leo

Leo was about to come to my seat but Mrs. Kim glared at me and she didn't let go of Leo.
