We're Open! - Rules for Contestants

Hello, all! We are happy to announce that the contest is officially open! We will start sharing information about participating in the contest, such as important dates and everything. The judging form will remain open so that we can allow more and more people to participate. So if you decide to take part in judging, then please submit a form!

Rules for Contestants:

1. Respect all contestants and judges. Harassment and bribing of any kind will result in disqualification and being added to the list of banned writers.

2. You must follow this account during the contest so that you will receive updates from the contest account. This following is mandatory, but it is not permanent. Once the contest is over, you are free to unfollow.

3. Add this story to your library so that you will get notified about the status of this contest. Add it to a public reading list as well so that we know that you did what was mentioned prior. Also, it makes this contest larger, therefore making it possible for this to become an annual thing and branch out so that it isn't just a small contest.

4. The form is a Google Form because it logs everything and it makes sure that no one forgets a step. It won't let you submit if any required field is empty. If submitting more than one entry, you will have to submit more than one form.

5. There must not be more than five chapters, prologue/epilogue included. The total word count is not to exceed 20,000 words. This requirement makes it so that judging will not take too long. If your book is longer than 5 chapters, you can still submit it, but only the first 5 chapters, 20,000 words will be judged— whichever comes first.

6. Stories that are against Wattpad terms and conditions will not be judged. Sexual intercourse should be between people of at least 16 years of age, in accordance with Canadian law. You can explore some darker aspects, but you cannot promote anything illegal.

7. For each book you enter, it is courteous to tag other Wattpadders who you think could enter this contest. Do NOT submit a work that isn't your own. (As of now, we're accepting one story per account. We will tell you if that changes)

8. If you change your username or book title, you must notify the contest immediately. Those who fail to do so may face disqualification and/or the possibility of being added to the ban list.

9. Do not in any way try to find out who the judges are. This anonymity is so that there will be no bribing or attacking of judges.

10. Entries must be written in English, Spanish, French, or Chinese (we will update if we are able to add more languages), but languages other than English will have smaller entry limits as to not overwhelm the judges fluent in these languages.

11. Entries that are Xyderverse fanfiction must give proper credit in both the blurb and again at the top of the first chapter in bold.

12. Fanfics and original works of fiction will be ranked separately.
