ok so i originally published last chapter and luke said they were going to Melbourne. I've changed it. they're going to Perth
Chapter eleven; Perth
A long haul flight with a two year old was something Luke never wanted to experience again. For a guy that doesn't like a lot of attention on him, he sure as hell disliked the forty five minutes straight that consisted of Lexi screaming, forcing everyone's attention on them.It took Ashton pacing up and down the isle of the plane, with Lexi wrapped in her favourite blanket and a bottle in her grasp to control her tears.
Although, the flight was worth it to able to see his mothers face when she realised that he had brought Ashton along with him.
Luke's parents moved to Perth after his graduation, Luke deciding to stay in Sydney. Although, when he and Ashton had broken up, he had caught the first flight out to Perth, running straight to his mother for comfort. Therefore, he felt a little tense about his mother and Ashton being around one another again, knowing how protective she got.
Liz had offered the couch to Ashton, although she had been instantly shut down by Luke who announced, nope, we will be fine together, trying to ignore the look his mother gave him in response.
So, they had been give one of the spare bedrooms that was big enough for both Ashton and Luke and a travel cot for Lexi.
"Don't think I don't know what's going on here, Luke." Liz muttered as they stood in the doorway of his aunts place in Perth, Luke's family were scattered around the large back garden, including Ashton and Lexi.
Luke couldn't help but smile as he watched Ashton sat on one of the lounge chairs, a pair of sunglasses on the tip of his nose and Lexi sat in between his legs, watching some of Luke's family play in the pool. Ashton was talking to Jack, his brother also still lived in Sydney but had flown over for the wedding.
Luke knew his brothers were just as protective over him as his parents were, therefore he made sure to keep his eyes on Ashton and Jack during their conversation.
"I don't know what you are talking about..." maybe playing dumb around his mother wasn't his best cause of defence, after all, she could read him like a book.
"You and Ashton. Back together, right?" She sighed, arms crossed although her eyes were also on Ashton and Lexi. Lexi was climbing up his legs until she finally got a grip on his shoulders and lifted herself up.
"We are not back together." That wasn't a lie, they hadn't made it official. "But, we still love each other and we are raising Lexi together... would it be so bad if we did?"
Liz turned her attention to her son and smiled sadly, "If that's what makes you happy, Luke. You know that's all I want."
He managed a smile in response at that, and she ushered him off in the direction of Ashton and Lexi, knowing fine well that he wanted to go to them. Hell, they were across the room and he was pining.
