Chapter twelve; disconnected Lexi looked adorable in her little flower girl dress. It was pastel pink, a tiny white cardigan to match and Luke had forgotten to pack any shoes that were appropriate for a wedding, so she had pink converses on to finish her look.
Luke looked gorgeous, he wore a white shirt with a navy blazer and matching pants. Ashton wore similar attire, however his suit was black, a tie to finish. Of course, Ashton had snapped a photo of Lexi and Luke dressed up and changed it to his lock screen.
"I love weddings." Luke whispered as they walked through the church, hands entwined while Lexi sat on Luke's hip, her thumb between her lips and her favourite, worn teddy gripped in the other. "Don't you?"
Ashton turned, a little distracted by all the people and decorations and smiled softly. "Sure." He couldn't exactly focus today, after the call with his boss, he had pushed his thoughts aside and not told Luke anything.
He probably should have told luke the truth about the promotion, but straight after the phone call, Luke had walked up to him and kissed him and he didn't have the heart to tell him he'd been offered a high paying job in Europe.
"Here, go to Ashton." Luke whispered to Lexi once they were seated. Ashton happily held his arms out for Lexi to crawl into, which she did, pulling his phone out of his blazer pocket to pass to her, knowing that pressing random buttons on his phone would keep her entertained enough to not make a fuss during the vows. With his free arm, he wrapped it around Luke's shoulders, holding both blondes in his arms a little tighter than usual.
The vows were sweet, a big compliment coming from Ashton. Ashton kept glancing towards Luke and seeing the tears building up in his eyes as he listened to his aunt and her partner declare their love for one another.
Even Lexi had decided to drop Ashton's phone half way through the ceremony and watch the bride and groom at the front with wide eyes.
"As much as I hate to say it." Ashton looked up from where he was watching guests gathering around the newly married couple, throwing confetti on them and shouting their congratulations. He was stood to the side, leaving Luke to stand with his parents at the front, while Ashton stayed behind with Lexi. "I haven't seen Luke this happy in... well, it seems like forever." Jack said as he came to stand beside him, "And something is telling me it's down to you two." The blonde added, motioning towards he and Lexi.
"When me and your brother first got together you called me a jackass and said he's too good for me." Ashton pointed out, clearly remembering Jack being a typical over protective brother when they first met.
"Yes. You're still a jackass." Jack said, although a smile was evident on his lips. "But you make Luke smile, so, I guess I like you-"
"Wow. Did you hear that Lexi?" Ashton teased, quickly adding a hey! When jack reached forward and snatched the baby from Ashton's hold. The blonde smirked as he moved towards the crowds, Lexi sat on his shoulders.
