I was sitting on Tyler's bed when I got a message from an unknown number. I glanced up at Tyler who sat on a bean bag playing Xbox with his headset, yelling at a couple of his friends to guard the right flank or something. I decided to open the message.

Unknown: What's up, cutie?

I should have been worried, which I wasn't ironically, but maybe they had the wrong number. So I responded back. Who's this? Was a simple enough way for me to reply. It was the most generic way to ask who someone was when you didn't know, ya know?

Unknown: Damon, duh.

I was extremely confused so I called the number. It was probably a bad idea. I mean, there are more people in the world named Damon rather than Damon O'Connell.

"Wasn't expecting a call," the voice on the other line groaned. Damn, it sounded like he just woke up. Not gonna lie, just like Luke's, Damon's voice sounded fine.

"Yeah, well I wasn't expecting a text from a random number but stuff happens." I heard him give a light chuckle. "Now, how did you get my number? You're starting to seem like a creep."

Rustling was heard on the other end and a rough sigh. "Tyler gave me it. I was talking to him and he just gave it. I'd be worried he'd auction you off if I we're you."

I threw a pillow at Tyler and he groaned. He aggressively took off his headset and stared back at me. I gave him the bird and stuck my tongue out. "Don't give out my number, you perv!"

"How am I the perv?!" He shouted back.

"Doesn't matter, just stop giving me away to random men!" I threw another pillow at him. I sighed deeply and gave my attention back to my phone. It surprised me that Tyler would give Damon my number. I mean, he fought Luke for crying out loud and Luke is the sweetest thing ever.

I turned my attention back to the boy laughing loudly through the phone. I sighed and finally asked, "What do you want?"

"It's Saturday," he said like it was the most obvious answer in the world.

"Yes, it's Saturday but what do you want?" I switched my phone to the other ear as I made my way to the stairs.

"You said we could 'hit the town'. And I remember clearly because it was after the game and you said we couldn't love each other like The Fault in Our Stars." Damon commented nonchalantly.

I began to blush furiously, staring at the last step of the stairs. "I didn't say that 'we couldn't love each other' like that." I angrily jumped down over the last stair step. I walked to the front door; it was time to check the mail.

"So we can love each other!" Damon cheered. I was about to say something but he continued anyways. "Back to the point, Andrea. I was wondering if I could take you up on the offer. Let's go out to downtown."

You could just hear the smirk in his voice. That arrogant boy was gonna be the death of me one day. I sighed heavily into the phone. I would reject Damon right away, but I remembered that Luke wasn't here for my entertainment because of some family thing, and Christie was off doing whatever.

I gave in.

Half an hour later I found myself standing in front of an amusement park. You could see almost all the rides that resided behind the heavy, beige concrete walls. I gaped at what I was seeing. Proccesing it all. I was at an amusement park. I hadn't expect this much from O'Connell.

"So what d'ya think?" A voice behind me hollered over the rushing wind and noisy people. I turned around to stare back at Damon who proudly placed his hands on his hips, a big grin hugged his face.

"How? Why? I mean, I don't have money, you can't possibly pay for me too," I blabbered. If I could go to parks like these anytime I wanted I would, but they always seemed like such a long drive away and costed too much for everyone that I wanted to join me.

Damon looked over at the line to purchase tickets, clusters of people grouped together. "Let me treat you for once. Like what friends do."

"If I let you pay for me that'd mean you're taking me out on a date," I joked to fit the mood. Damon got quiet and I began to slightly worry.

"One step at a time, Andrea. One step at a time."
