It felt slightly cold, a chilling breeze hitting the nape of my neck. The trampoline felt lighter, and it felt as if I was in the womb of the comforter; like I was buried in it, but not in the way I had been when I was awake. There was also the absence of a toned chest against my back.
“Andrea,” some voice cooed into my ear. “Andrea,” The person shook my shoulder in which moved my whole body in a soft motion.
“Shh, Luke. I'm still sleepy...” I whispered in an annoyed tone. I could feel my body still sore from the water and all the moving we did earlier. I probably won't be doing anything extreme anytime soon.
“Luke?” Tyler's voice made my eyes open wide. I sat straight up and stared down my brother straight in the eyes without breaking contact. This is the sole reason they say to not skip school and invite boys into your home; because your older brother can find them. I wasn't entirely sure if Tyler was cool with Luke or nor, and that worries me greatly. I searched around me for a hidden Luke but he was nowhere. In his place was my phone with a new text.
“You had that boy here? Alone, might I add. I'm starting to think he's a worse influence on you than I am,” Tyler threw his arms in the air and twirled around dramatically. While he was distracted I reached for my phone. Okay, maybe Tyler wasn't as comfy around Luke than I was. Oops.
Luke <3 : Woke up and left. You're too cute to wake up when you snore. And I saw your brother's car and got scared, sorry. I'll call you tonight, so don't miss it.
“Are you really on the phone, right now?" Tyler shook his head while placing his hands over his eyes. When he took away his hands he was staring up at the sky. “I get it you want friends, but imagine if mom or dad found you with a boy? Where is he even? Were you guys hanging out and skipping school all day? Did you even bother going to class?"
I can't believe Tyler is the one lecturing me about this. One time dad caught him with a girl in bed... while they were still at it. Yet, if I finally do something rebellious it's the end of the world. I figured mom and dad would be happy to officially have confirmation that I'm not lesbian.
“Well,” I began as I jumped off the trampoline, heading inside. “Dear Tyler, sweet brother. Mom and Dad would be jumping in joy like they're going to the Bahamas. They wanted me to live and its not like we slept together. I'm still a virgin, anyways." I walked inside and headed straight to the fridge. I took out a can of soda and glanced at the clock. It was almost five o'clock.
“I forbid you to see him ever again!" Tyler swiped his right hand in front of me for emphasis.
“This isn't a Shakespearean play like Romeo and Juliet, it could be more like Much Ado About Nothing,” I noted.
Tyler groaned loudly. “No one if setting you up for love nor calling you a prostitute!” He yelled from the couch.
I looked over the island to raise an eyebrow at Tyler. I was actually genuinely surprised he knew anything about any of Shakespeare's plays. I kind of favored them, but I didn't know if Tyler knew a thing about them.
