Breakfast in the Great Hall was a noisy affair to say the least, and this crisp early-December morning was no exception. The Marauders sat in their usual formation at the centre of the table; 'Sergeant Pepper's lonely hearts club' (i.e everyone that was single..i.e. everyone that wasn't Eloise or Sirius) were sat on one side (named by Thalia after the release of the album by the Beatles, which her and her fellow Marauders loved, hence why no one took offence), and the rest (the couples) were sat opposite them. Thalia was snuggled between Peter and James, as per usual, sitting as still as her bubbly personality would allow, at risk of annoying her friends. Shifting in her chair, she smirked in the direction of the door as Regulus Black walked in, none of her friends noticing as he returned with a wink before continuing to the Slytherin table. The small girl then jumped up, banging her knee on the table and cursing, saying a few of her friends from various classes beckoned her to the Hufflepuff table but really, she wanted to see Regulus. Hopping from the pounding in her knee, she began to bounce over towards the table of badgers, her plan however, being foiled by an uneven flagstone in the floor. Jumping on it resulted in rolling her ankle and she started to fall towards the floor with a yell of;

"SHIT ON IT!" (Thalia's signature exclamation that no one really knew where from), before being grabbed by the waist and steadied. Her eyes found the hands around her middle, and she followed them to a pair of muscular arms, up to broad shoulders, then to messy dark hair and round glasses. She was looking into the sparkling hazel eyes of James Potter, who had quickly come to her rescue. Ignoring the flutter that entered her stomach she avoided looking at him,

"Thanks James, I owe you one."

"It's fine." He quickly let go of her, causing her full weight to be placed on her ankle. She winced and lifted it off the ground, turning back to the Gryffindor table, hoping no one had noticed her being such a baby about something so trivial.

"I'll talk to you guys later." She mouthed to Regulus and the boy nodded as she sat back down in her seat,

"Hey, Pup!" Remus called, "Why were you limping?" Damn. Someone noticed. She thought.

"I wasn't."

"Were too." Sirius chipped in.

"Was not." She haughtily replied.

"Were too!" He tossed his hair.

"Was not!" She tossed hers.

"Were t-"

"Now now, children, behave!" Eloise chipped in, recognising there was never going to be an end to this, unless someone intervened. The rest of the Marauders laughed as the duo chorused;

"Yes, Miss!". As conversations ensued, many owls soared into the great hall, dipping beaks into their recipient's pumpkin juice and crunching up the crusts of their pieces of toast.

'tis a short one oops sorry
