"WHEN I SAY FUCK, YOU SAY EXAMS! FUCK!"
"EXAMS!"
"FUCK!"
"EXAMS!" The entirety of the Gryffindor Common Room chanted, large grins on their faces only partly due to the cups full of Butterbeer and Firewhiskey in their hands.
"Get off the table, J! I want to dance." Thalia smiled up at her boyfriend, already moving her hips to the rhythm of The Police playing in the background.
"Then dance up here!" James beamed and jumped to the ground putting his hands on Thalia's waist and lifting her up to the table. Thalia shook her head as he sprinted off to grab two glasses of Firewhiskey and joined her, handing her the drink and wrapping his arm around her waist, "May I have this dance, Lia?" he smirked and Thalia downed her Firewhiskey, screwing up her face before sending her boyfriend a smile,
"Only if you hurry up and finish your drink."
"You're such a bad influence." James joked before throwing his drink down his throat and taking both of their empty glasses to give to some unknowing boy walking past. "Take these for me will you? There's a good chap." James patted the boy on the head before taking both of Thalia's hands in his and beginning to dance. "So how did you find your first set of exams at Hogwarts?"
"Shit. Now kiss me." Thalia smirked and put her hands on the back of James' neck, pulling him down to her level,
"If you say so." James shrugged and closed the distance, wrapping his arms around her waist. Cheers and whoops erupted around them and the pair pulled away, laughing,
"We have an audience." Thalia whispered and James chuckled,
"Let's resume this at a later date." he pecked her lips quickly and jumped off the table, offering her his hand. Thalia took it and stepped down to the ground, grinning as soon as she spotted Eloise, sat on Sirius' lap on the sofa, laughing into her boyfriend's shoulder. Thalia dragged James in the direction of their best friends, making sure to grab two more Firewhiskeys on the way and telling him to do the same. They reached the sofa and Thalia passed Eloise and Sirius a drink,
"Thanks, Pup." Sirius smiled and Thalia and James sat down beside them on the sofa.
"I'd like to propose a toast," Thalia lifted her glass and the others soon followed suit, "MOONY! BIRDIE! WORMY!" the girl bellowed at the three people on the dance floor, "WE'RE DOING A TOAST!"
"Coming!" Robyn called back and Remus and Peter went to get three more Firewhiskeys before joining the rest of the Marauders on the sofa,
"To the end of a year!" Thalia smiled, "To new friends, new relationships and the best summer yet!"
"Here here!" her friends all laughed before they each downed their drinks. A new song started playing and Eloise bounced up from Sirius' lap,
"Come on, girls!" she beamed and grabbed Robyn and Thalia's hands, "Let's dance!" she pulled them into the middle of the room and the three of them immediately attracted all of the attention as they let loose and moved to the song. James, Sirius and Remus all leant back on the sofa, admiring their girlfriends with wistful looks on their faces.
"We've certainly lucked out, boys." Sirius said, a smile on his face as Eloise was spun around by Thalia, her face lit up,
"That we have." Remus nodded, watching Robyn twist around, laughing,
"Couldn't get much better than this." James agreed, smirking as he caught Thalia's eye and she winked at him, her chocolate hair swishing around her as she moved to the beat. As she turned around she bumped into someone and would've fallen over if he didn't reach out to steady her,
"Oh! I'm sorr- Fabian!" Thalia grinned hugging the ginger boy,
"Hi, Thals!" he greeted equally as enthusiastically, "How did your exams go?"
"I mean they were exams, so enough said." she giggled, feeling slightly dizzy.
"Fair enough." Fabian chuckled, "Do you want a drink, I was just heading to get one for me and my date." he gestured over his shoulder to a girl chatting with his twin, Gideon.
"Oooh, Melanie Tipton? Didn't know you were into blondes." she teased, hitting the boy softly on the shoulder,
"Yeah, she's sweet." he smiled and Thalia noticed a faint pink to his cheeks,
"Good for you, Fabian. I'm happy." she smiled, "And as for the drink, I never say no to alcohol!"
"Noted." Fabian laughed and patted her on the arm, "I will be right back then. Don't move." he walked over to the drinks table and, as soon as he left, Thalia felt someone arrive at her side,
"JAMES!" she cheered, wrapping her arms around the boy's neck and kissing him straight on the lips, "I missed you, sexy."
"Didn't look like it." he grumbled, his hands coming to rest on her hips as he looked over her shoulder,
"Why because I was talking to Fabian?" she asked with a snort, "He offered to get me a drink as he got one for himself and his date Melanie. Don't get so jealous, you silly boy!" she tapped his nose and James sighed,
"Sorry, Lia." he pulled back slightly to look at her glazed eyes, "Are you drunk?"
"ME? No! I am not a lightweight, mister!" she pointed a finger in his face and swayed slightly,
"Oh, yes you are!" James chuckled, tightening his grip on her.
"Your drink, m'lady." Fabian walked up to the couple and smiled at James, "Sorry I didn't get you one, mate I didn't realise you were here." he passed Thalia the glass and James shrugged,
"Don't worry about it." he smiled genuinely and Fabian returned it before going over to where his date was. Thalia looked at her boyfriend with a pout, "Why are you sulking? I was perfectly nice."
"It's not about Fabian. I'm worried you're going to tell me I can't have another drink." she pulled her glass into her chest and cradled it. James threw his head back and laughed,
"Don't worry, Thals. I'm not going to tell you what to do." he put a hand on her cheek and she smiled, "You are in charge of what you drink but I'm going to be right here to make sure nothing happens to you because, not only am I your knight in shining armour, I am also better at holding my alcohol and it takes more than two drinks to get me drunk." he teased and Thalia gasped,
"Well, excuse me for not being an alcoholic by the time I was thirteen!" she smiled, taking a sip of her Firewhiskey.
"I'm guessing Elle told you that?" he smirked and Thalia nodded, "Hah! Like she was any better." he shook his head and turned to look at his sister who was being twirled in the air by Sirius, the same dazed look on her face as Thalia, "Saying that, she looks pretty gone too."
"I noticed her go over to the drinks whilst I was talking to Fabian." Thalia giggled, "She had at least six in the span of ten seconds."
"That sounds like my sister." James laughed and Thalia smiled at him.
"I love you, James." she said and the boy froze, his eyes widening,
"Y-you're drunk."
"Doesn't mean I don't mean it." she smiled, leaning forward and resting her cheek on his chest. After a moment she felt him wrap his arms around her, placing his chin on her head,
"I love you too, Thalia."
"Good. Otherwise this would be really embarrassing for me."
