"You should have never let that girl get the best of you."
Bunny said as she comforted Margaret who crying her eyes out.

"She really push my button! As soon as she sat on his lap, I had to let her have it!"
Margaret said in between sniffling.

"I just wish I wasn't the one suspended. I thought what I did was right."
Bunny shook her head.

"I appreciated you being so defensive. It shows you are tough girl and don't take shit from nobody!"
She chuckled a bit.

Margaret half smiled as she wiped her eyes with her pink long sleeve.

"But you know it's against school policies that it should be no drama unless it's a subject, which I found stupid as hell. Anyways, I'm not going for that crap. I know what you did and I'm glad that you put that delusional heifer in her place!"
Bunny hugged her.

"I really appreciate you, Bunny, but I wish I could feel the same. I know my mom is disappointed. When she gets back whatever she is at, my ass is grass."
Margaret rubbed her arm as she could visualize what punishment her mom would be giving her.

Her being suspended at a school she worked hard for to get her daughter. She would be pissed when she find out.

"You don't look at the dark side of things, try to explain and maybe she will understand."
Bunny tells as Margaret nodded her head.

"I'll do that, thank you again!"
Margaret gave her a big hug.

"Hey, you ok?"
El looked up from reading a magazine as he got up and grab Margaret's hand.

Margaret nodded, smiling as she took a seat.
"I apologize for the way I acted, she asked to see that side of me."

El chuckled.
"You don't need to apologize. I know besides your sweet side, you got a hard side. And girl, you really whoop her like you were Muhammad Ali."

Margaret laughed as she playfully hit El.
"But I know you had to, you did what needed to be done and I love you for that."

El kissed her on the lips causing her to blush afterwards.

"Margie!"
James called her name from outside of the door before coming in with the house phone in his hand, giving it to her.

Margaret didn't bother to ask. She knew it none other than her mom calling. She gulped nervously but thought about what Bunny said. She placed the phone on her ear.

"Hi, mom."

"Don't sweetened that tone, Margaret Ann!"

"Now ma—"

"Zip it! You can save whatever lie you're going to tell me cause I'm not going to fall for that crap! What is this suspension? What the hell did you do, Margaret Ann?!"
Her mother shouted in the phone.

It was so loud that James and El could hear.

"Mommy, oh god, this girl got jealous cause she didn't have what I have. Then at lunch, she attack me and sat on El's lap—"

"Eldra?! Etterlene's boy?! When you and him start dating?!"

Margaret pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Mom, that doesn't even matter. I had to attack her cause she was being disrespectful to me. Remember you told me to stand up for myself?"

"I don't give a damn! Your ass should have left that boy alone! Knowing that's one of his girls! If that didn't happened, you would still be in school! Oh my god! I can't fucking believe you!"
Claire continued to ignore her daughter.

She understand that she was pissed but she wish she had some sympathy.

A tear fell from Margaret's eye.
"I'm sorry, mom."

"Whatever, goodbye."
With that being said, Claire hung up the phone.

Margaret slowly pulled the phone away from her ear as she looked at it and started sobbing uncontrollably.

Her own mother. Treating her like this.
It made her even more curious but she didn't want to think. She felt she messed up.

Claire took her seat back on the sofa as she pour herself another glass of wine. She gulped it down quickly, feeling the tangy flavor going down her throat as she switched her mouth to the side.

"Claire? You ok?"
Jonathan asked as he entered the luxurious living room.

Claire look at him then the wine bottle that's almost gone.
"Do I look ok?!"
She snapped.

Jonathan held his hands up as he took a seat next to her.

Jonathan is a doctor. He met her while at work.
He is charming, funny, and very thoughtful. He lived in a luxury condo in Detroit with him and his daughter. He asked Claire if she wanted to stay since the two were already attached to each other. She couldn't down his offer. He was so nice.

"Don't hurt me now, I heard you were screaming on the phone and wanted to know."

"No, I'm not."
Claire answered.

Instead of refilling her glass, she drank from the bottle.
"I'm pissed at my daughter doing stupid shit that got her suspended at school!"

She took another sip.
"Over a boy! She fought your daughter who she said was trippin, because, she wanted El!"

Claire laughed.
"Can you believe this bullshit? I work so hard to get her where she wants to be and this is the motherfucking thanks I get?! Her ass is ungrateful, just like her dead daddy! That nigga took everything a joke and got his ass shot! He don't listen like she don't listen!"

"Claire, I'm going to need you to calm down, ok? I know you're upset but you have to work this out. I know my daughter did was wrong to but please."

Claire scrunched up her face as she sized Jonathan up.
"Fuck no! I ain't going to work out shit! She's old enough to do that, I'm tired of forgiving and getting played!"

Jonathan sighed as he turn away from her, shaking his head.
