The rain hit the metal roof, clinging over and over again, making sure that no entity gets any rest. Lightning struck close by, roaring like a lion in the middle of the savannah. When she appeared, she had gotten out of her car to investigate and continue her studies on these woods. When the lightning struck once more, she could see the landscape in almost perfect detail. As if it were day time. She took out her flashlight and a camera. She turned both of them on and started to record her journey through the conifers.
"Log number 45. I'm praying that this won't be my last log. The first time I walked into that college, I could just feel the energy flowing through it! It wasn't a good kind of energy either; it felt very uninviting. Almost like I wasn't meant to be there in the first place. Me, not listening to my gut, decided that it would be a good place to continue my studies. Young Kate wasn't very smart, was she? Well, When I saw him for the first time, that's when my radar felt like it was being manipulated. I kept feeling all these strange energies every which way, and I almost got dizzy. Then I unfortunately figured out what was happening. I figured out why he looked so strange to me before. His hair was black, but I could see the roots of it starting to turn white. Roots aren't supposed to be that bright unless you're about eighty years old. His skin was always pale, but every time I got close to him he felt like a dead body. He was cold but almost lukewarm. I felt like if I had touched him, my soul would have left my own body. Not only that, his eyes weren't normal, either. Usually, people only have three eye colors. Blue, green, and brown. Gray if you're lucky. His was yellow, and not the mucus color you'd expect. They were a vibrant yellow, like the color you'd expect to be in a crayon box. I followed him home one day when I thought he wasn't looking and broke into his 'house' if you can call it that. There was a room filled with papers and pictures of this old barn that I'm familiar with, so I decided to go there tonight. If I'm right, then this is the guy that I've been talking to. The one who messaged me, threatening to kill me. I didn't go to the police because I'm almost sure that they would throw me in a mental asylum if I told them that vampires existed. I'm in too deep now, and I have to do this on my own. If you find this, don't make the same mistake that I did. Kate, out."
The tree branches and twigs snapped underneath her shoes as she walked. Her jacket was drenched, and she felt herself getting colder by the minute. Her breath turned into frost as she went out, and it wasn't even winter. As she got deeper into the woods, she could see and feel black spots of blurry nonsense sprinting around her. When she started to hear voices, she ran faster.
As she was getting closer, she could feel something behind her. She heard twigs snap, and they weren't under her. As she arrived, all of the motion and the noise stopped. It was like whatever had been following her was offset by the barn itself, and acted like a repellant. When she got to the entrance, she pushed the door ajar slightly and watched as the door creaked loudly and echoed throughout the giant interior. She shined her flashlight into the barn and pointed her camera at the corner of the barn where she heard buzzing flies zoom across the room and back around again. She saw something standing up, but it wasn't alive. It was, however, dripping and oozing with blood.
"What the hell? Is that blood?" She said.
Before she could process it, the door behind her shut forcefully. It made every hook and tool that was hanging from the support beams sway back and forth. She noticed that the strange, dark, blurry figure was back. It rushed past her, even so fast as to ripple through her clothes. When she pointed her flashlight to the ceiling, she screamed. The second she made any noise is when she was attacked from behind by something lurking in the shadows. She dropped her camera and her flashlight. The recording didn't face her demise. However, it caught every sound and screech and cry she could make. Her violent screams for help went unnoticed and soon enough put to an end as her legs had stopped moving, and slowly fell from the air as she had been kicking before. The faint sound of sucking had been heard, and then all went silent. The camera was picked up, and then the video had been stopped.
