My head hurts.
I can't see anything.
The only thing I can comprehend is the echo that is bouncing off the walls and into my ears. Let it be my own voice, or someone else's.
Where am I?
Why does my head hurt so much?
I can't think.
A match lit in front of me. There, I could barely make out anything in the room. With my migraine making it hard to look at the light, things were difficult. I heard the scratch of it as it scraped across the board and the hiss of it as it burned. "Be careful." I heard a voice say. I can't see anything. The movement that I'm making makes me want to vomit all over this mystery girl and blow out the flame. "What- What's going on?" I ask.
"You're tied up pretty well. I wouldn't struggle; it would only make your wrists raw." The soft voice that was coming from in front of me was so familiar, yet I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I know I've heard it somewhere, but I just can't remember where. It's hard to remember anything, honestly. My name is Matias, and I'm a vampire. I guess I can remember everything that's important. Oh yeah, Daniel.
I struggle, but I feel the rope rub up against my skin and burn like a bitch. "My boss doesn't know I'm here. If you make any noise, we're both getting killed. Got it?" "Who are you?" "My name is Tsarra. I go by that name, and that name only. Don't listen to Anmah. He likes to be a jerk." When I started to feel some of my cognitive functions come back, I started to get my memories back almost instantly. So much so, I think it made my migraine even worse. I remember hearing the name Anmah. When Eddie was on the phone, a girl called him by that name. This girl is probably the one that he was talking to on the phone, Reagan if I recall. "What's happening?" I asked her. Once the pounding on the left side of my eye starts to go away, I quickly start to see more of the room. The walls, they're concrete. They look rough and gray in the yellow light of the match she lit.
"I'm sorry it had to end like this. You were so close. You know, if you had just run off with the amulet, you'd still be in your cozy little home. Watching TV, with- I guess not everything would've been the same," She waves the match around while she gestures and moves her arms around and about. The little flame even started to go out at one point. I got angry. I felt my face get hot and my insides boil like I was cooking spaghetti for a party of ten. "Where is he?" I ask. I try not to raise my voice. No matter how much I want Tsarra dead, I don't want to go with her.
She puts the match close to her face, revealing a stern and stark appearance. Her coily hair making it even creepier. "Don't get your boxers tied in a knot. He's fine," she said. Her eyes glanced at me, but then went to the back of her head as we both heard the sound of a door shutting and footsteps. "No more questions," is all she said before blowing the flame out. I heard a large door open and then shut. It vibrated the walls and ground around me until I felt disoriented. Almost as if I was floating in space. The buzzing in my head came back, and this time it felt heavy. Almost as if Fang carried weight with him now. "Hold still," he said. I did my best to remain as still as possible. I tried not to fall over, or even breathe. When I felt my head start to tighten, I got scared. My anxiety went through the roof and almost caused me to panic. Luckily, I felt it loosen its grip. The world was suddenly visible.
"What did you do?" I asked Fang. "I can only give you night vision for a little bit. Use it sparingly."
