"Sir, he's moving," Reagan said.
Anmah came up closer to the glass and saw Bradly start to shuffle his feet. Moving back and forth to try and get free. "Hello?!" He screamed. His hands were tied behind his back and he could barely think. All he could think about was blood. He was starving, and nothing in the world mattered more to him right now than blood. His mouth salivated and his eyes began to go dark. "What's happening to me?" He asked into the pale, concrete room. The two-way glass made it so he can't see anyone, but everyone could see him.
"He's going to be hysterical. How much blood do we have left?" Reagan asked him. She looked into the glass and put a hand on it, looking directly into Bradly's eyes.
Anmah looked at his chart and saw all the scribbles he had written. The ink-filled page was making him frustrated, and he threw the clipboard on the floor. "We can't keep stealing from the local hospital. They're going to get suspicious and they'll track everything down to us." "We can easily take on a few children, Anmah." She said, holding her own clipboard close to her body. "That's not the issue. We need to remain in the shadows. If people know that we still exist, then we'll have to move to another country. It was hard enough learning modern English, I'm not ready to speak another language yet."
"I understand that, but our-"
"Reagan, go take care of your paperwork."
"But sir-"
Anmah put his hand on her throat and lifted her up. Her face started to melt and distort with every point of pressure that he put on her throat. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't scare him into letting go. When he dropped her, she fell on her bottom and bruised her knees and arms. She got up and dusted off her dress. "Another millennium with you sounds like hell." She said. She left and closed the door behind her.
Anmah turned to face the glass again and saw Bradly start to foam from the mouth. His eyes were bright yellow, and they glowed a vibrant purple.
"Reagan," he called for her.
"What?" She asked with attitude, still upset about earlier.
"How is Kiara doing?"
"She's tied up. I can expect that she'll be waking up soon."
I lied on my back on the bed in my room. The sound of the rain hitting the window has to be keeping Daniel up. At least, until he actually fell asleep. At that point, it's like nothing will wake him. I feel my toes go cold, and then my feet. My legs and then my entire body. I'm freezing. I cover up with one of the blankets, but it doesn't help too much. Maybe if I had an electric blanket, but I have no body heat.
The sound of it was almost deafening. I couldn't hear myself breathe, or think for that matter. When it calmed down, I felt a sigh of relief wash over me. I then realize how tired I have become over this past decade. Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. I'm exhausted from feeling like I'm some freak that can't sleep at night, even though that's exactly what I am. Maybe if I felt normal for one minute, just one minute, everything would be okay. Sadly, that's not going to happen any time soon. Unless I get that amulet.
If I ever get my hands on it, I'm not too sure what I'd do with it. If I wear it as Kate instructed, then I will be normal again. I won't have to drink blood, my skin will be a normal color, my hair will be brown again, and I'll even be able to fall asleep. If I put it on, there's no telling what will happen to everyone else though. I'll be powerless. With people like Eddie and Stephen still out there, it would only make things harder for everyone. Everyone including me. There's no denying that Stephen is strong. Not only that, he's slick and convincing. Manipulative is an understatement because those vampires that he lives with just follow him around like lost ducklings. I'll be a new item on their menu. I'm really not sure what I want.
